osso,

I hope to be there Sunday and I want to come early to help sublime set up. Thomas is correct to keep me in the probably category. That weekend we are celebrating my mother's birthday. One of my brothers is flying in from out of state. Still, I want to spend a few hours with the A2Kers.

Good grief, at last resort bring your brothers with you. We are not all so dangerous and would like to meet them.

Indeed, bring your mother. We would be so pleased to meet her, me especially.

Now that its been accepted Foxfyre well may be an actual person, perhaps we should explore why it might be that devriesj apparently manifests as 2 persons:

Oh, that's actually a rare, quantum-mechanical phenomenon called "Schrödinger's devriesj": For some time, Devriesj was in two superimposed quantum states, a "definitely" state and a "maybe" state. You are fortunate to have witnessed it, and her "maybe" quantum state collapsed when you looked. See?

Definitely (17 total): Cicerone Imposter, devriesj, Eva, georgeob1, mac 11, J_B, joefromchicago, justa_babbling_brooke, Occom Bill, ossobuco, realjohnnyboy, timberlandko, sublime 1, Thomas, Walter Hinteler, yitwail, Mrs yitwail.

Probably (2 total):
Smog, wandeljw

Maybe (18 total):
Coastal Rat, ehBeth, FreeDuck with Mr.Duck and the ducklings, gustavratzenhofer, Husker, JamesMorrison with wife, kickycan, McTag, Merry Andrew, Mr. Stillwater, Phoenix, satt_fs,

Probably not (19 total):
blatham, Calamity Jane, Clary, Craven de Kere, Diane, dyslexia, Dagmaraka, dlowan, Foxfyre, Francis, hephzibah, Jespah, jpinmilwaukee, Lola, Noddy, shewolf, sozobe, swimpy, Ticomaya,

Seemed interested to me, but haven't said anything explicit yet: (2 total)
Lion Tamer, Piffka

Haven't seen them commit to it yet, have you?

Commit.

(I think I already did commit earlier in the other thread, but I'm too lazy to check.)

And since we're at it, I'm also signing up for the architecture tour Wednesday 9:30

Shocked

How'd you figure out I'll be in Saint Louis before I'll be in Chicago? If you're a psychic, that's pretty impressive!

(Just the facts)
Now set in stone: At the very least, O'bill, Walter, Brooklyn, C.I., RJB, Thomas, Mac11, Eva, Osso, Thomas and Joe will be at Duke of Perth at 6:30 on Friday, May 5th! We'll be enjoying a Fish Fry and drinks. All are welcome. Did I miss anyone?

What about Thomas and the Yitwails?

we'd like to make it but our plane lands at 19:30, so it's iffy. if by miracle we land early and get our baggage right away, and so forth, we might drop by.

Not sure if I can make it to the Duke of Perth by 6:30 but I will be there eventually. I work until the truck is empty and Fridays are busier days than most.

Not all at once.
Usually.

Didn't someone develop a list of hotels where everyone is staying? Can someone update and re-post that?

Several of us (OccomBill, mac11 and myself) are staying at the Days Inn Lincoln Park. C.I. is splurging at the Millennium Knickerbocker. Walter is staying at the Essex Inn, and Osso will be at the Downtown Travelodge.
This is the last I saw. I'll re-post it on the other thread and ask that people add themselves to it.

Alternately; if any/everyone wants to PM me their contact info; I'll correlate it and act as a hub for interested gatherers. My laptop is coming along for the ride.

For anyone interested in joining the Friday architecture tour - Highlights by Bus -

It starts at the ArchiCenter office which is at the Santa Fe building, at the northwest corner of Jackson and Michigan Avenue - at 9:30. This is across Michigan Avenue from the Art Institute.
Directions here - http://www.architecture.org/directions.html
One should be there just after 9 am.

Reservations for Friday morning on line or by telephone for the Highlight Bus Tour, click on the blue Highlights by Bus above......or just show up..

Welcome to join Walter and I at Au Bon Pain french bakery 122 S. Michigan Avenue, about 1-1/2 blocks north of the ArchiCenter - we'll be there from around 8 to 9 a.m. on Friday morning. (Chances are good I'll be there Sat a.m. before the art museum gathering too, but in that case more like from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m.)

Thanks, osso!

I will be on my way to work Friday morning. I would love to stop by. Make sure Walter sits next to the window (I would recognize him anywhere.)

This is a great chance for A2Kers to meet 2 gurus in training at the same time!

I might bring my a2k sweatshirt, homely as it may be, just in case we can't get a window seat, Wandeljw. Or CI can bring some of his collection of A2k SF hats....

but with your avatar, now we'll recognize you too!
