here's the map for the El - looks like one can take the El red line from the Harrison station to the Belmont station..or wherever the nearest station to the Sunday get together is..
a cab is no doubt a lot easier, but I wanted to have the El map on hand.

It's official! You can move me from the "Probably" to the "Definitely" list! I got the final go-ahead last night and just made my reservations. I'll be there with bells on! (Okay, not literally.)

Arriving: Friday noon, May 5 (in plenty of time for the Duke of Perth gathering!)

Departing: Monday afternoon, May 8

Hotel: Days Inn Lincoln Park...I wanted to stay at the same place some of the rest of you will be staying, and O'Bill and mac11's choice seemed good to me, too. Maybe together we can figure out the best way to get around.

I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you!

Awesome news, Eva! I'll likely drive to Chicago, but cab thereafter. The consensus seems to be that cars are a waste of time and money in this city.

Now set in stone: At the very least, O'bill, Walter, Brooklyn, C.I., RJB, Thomas, Hephzibah, Mac11, Eva and Joe will be at Duke of Perth at 6:30 on Friday, May 5th! We'll be enjoying a Fish Fry and drinks. All are welcome. Did I miss anyone?

O'Bill...I agree, taxis seem to be the best way to get around to me, too. Perhaps the three of us can share cab fare sometimes...? We shall see what happens.

Eva, <just read the good news! Great that we´ll be seeing you in Chicago. <i´m not in buenos aires for 3 mores nites, then on to <igazu falls, then rio before we head home.

I'm looking forward to meeting you too, c.i.! Dys and Diane have said such nice things about you. My ambition is to travel to half the places you've been before I die.

I've been watching here and also watching a possible trip to Ohio that could allow for a layover in Chicago. The Ohio trip has been postponed to fall, however, and due to other conflicts I'm a probably not. I do want a full report though.
