You can find the general planning thread with lots of good maps and bits of info over here:

http://www.able2know.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=63039

That thread will be ongoing, while this one will have JUST the most pertinent info as it develops.

To start with:

Where: Chicago, Illinois, US
When: May 7th, 2006

That's definite.

Sublime has offered the use of his condo's rec room for the gathering -- that is currently the (quite attractive) plan B option. We are keeping an eye out for another venue that would be even more appropriate, nothing has materialized yet.

Info on sublime's condo:

Capacity: 30 for the rec room, 45 if the movie theater is also reserved.
Food: None provided, outside food is fine. (As in, catered or take-out.)
Hours available: 9:00 AM to midnight on Saturday; noon to midnight Sunday --> Friday.
Smoking allowed?: No. (Outside provisions available.)
Location (general): Irving Park and Lake Shore Drive.

Again, please direct any general comments to the thread linked to above, and keep this one clear for specifics as they develop.

Thanks!

can people post here which hotels are they staying in? i know it's been posted on the other thread, sort of here and there, but it would be good to tally it up, too, so that newcomers could look into those hotels.

FYI

I stayed at the Four Point Sheraton this weekend and it was a really nice hotel. Nice rooms, indoor pool, reasonable cost (parking is an extra hidden cost but you do have in/out privileges) and close to everything.

Nice to see the Definites list expanding - should continue to do so as the event nears, too. We're gonna have a great get-together, thats for sure.
