Hi little k ------- I've got that Jimmi Hendrix number "Highway Chile" on a double CD called Voodoo Child, disc 1 trk 5

That's a UK issue, don't know if the same one is out in the USA. I got last xmas from my daughter, amazing how clever she can be.

There's another soapbox item. Seattle seems anxious to claim Jimi Hendrix as part of its cultural heritage. First of all, the guy was born in Tacoma, not Seattle. Second, he left at 16 and never moved back. What does that tell you? Sheesh.

Yeah...West Virginia has to claim Charles Manson, and what does this tell us? That he was born there. Who is Jimi Hindrix? Is he any kin to Lambert, Hendricks, and Ross? Razz

Wow! Bo has created a monster and then left the castle before it was burned to the ground. No prob, though. They'll find him frozen in ice somewhere, and the entire cycle will begin anew.

And I am tired of being labeled a liberal cause I think all people should have access to health care. Twisted Evil

labels, shmabels. let 'em call you what they will.

(i'm waiting for someone to figure out that my proper label is "misanthrope," and the political ones just don't fit, but, alas, we speak a germanic tongue here...)

what will they make of the wee cyber iceman?

You're a misanthrope and I'm a phalarope.

OAK - I bought several hendrix albums in England that weren't available in the states (I was 14), but I gave them all away a few years ago.

Letty! Jimi Hendrix! Are you pulling my leg?

Jimi Hendrix was a great man. Thanks for reminding us. Great lyrics. I loved him at Woodstock (I wasn't there, though I wish I had been, I had to see him in the movie). Still he was great.

Now what's one of my soaps? I hate it when people try to tell me how I should believe. Like Jerry Falwell or Bill Bennett. But this is no news to anyone here.

Lola, we have something in common: I was not at Woodstock, either.

I find your passion unconvincing. Make me believe that you hate having people tell you what to believe (wink).

Yeah Jimmy is great, even 30 years after his demise. My 21 year daughter has at last realized that 60s/70s music is far better than most contempary stuff.

Yep. And the music from the 60s/70s that you still listen to is far better than most of the other stuff put out back then.

Found a new rant. GOOGLE IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE BEST. It ain't. I cannot find the lyrics to Korsakov's Song of India, and I know they exist.

Hmmm. The (I'm assuming English) lyrics may be under their own copyright, in which case it would be illegal, I think, to post them. The sheet music is for sale in a number of locations, including in "The World's Greatest Fake Book," which I used to own but is no more. Good luck...

patio, I just want these very....very....very old lyrics. Do you mean that if I found them, they would be illegal to post? Someone wants to know them on my History Mystery thread.

I've no idea. I very much doubt it, but I know nothing about the internet and copyright law as individual entities (never mind how one applies to the other). But for someone to post it as sole content or something might be verboten. Just a guess, though; I really have no idea.

Maybe it's just that no one's thought to put them out there.

O.K.;
I've been bad!
Missed a whole dung load of neat complaints; but, now that I'm back.....

Grrrrrrr; I draw the line at Oa(didn't)K's comment "My 21 year daughter has at last realized that 60s/70s music is far better than most contempary stuff."

There is much better music being written to day than most of the "old" stuff!!
O.K., O.K., I just broke my own taboo, replace "much better" with "excellent", lets not get into competing arts!

Really though, just go to IUMA.com and sample; and for the Brits; Massive Attack, Portishead........ inumerable top notch stuff;

Now for the rant....

Oops, first Letty;
Thinking the everyone should have access to health care makes you a human being (or a Canadian), not a liberal.

Back to the rant.........(cont'd)

Why do people insist on living in the past?
This is the 21st. century folks; knock knock, is any body home???

We do things today that weren't even thought about fifty years ago, and the average Joe/anne on the street wants to wallow in
"why back in _____ the ____ was the greatest.

BULL!

Instead of wallowing in "Woodstocks" (admittedly very neat), lets create new ones;
If everyone is content to live in the past, we won't need a future!!!
