Hang in there John. Thank heaven you are an individual--besides, you're sort of cute when you're angry.

Now you guys have offended me. I drive an SUV, talk incessantly on my cell phone while driving and walking, love competition and live in a gated community (or did.) Oh dear, I'm going to lose all my friends. I try to live right, but..............well, I have no excuse really.

I think I better go back to square one and start over. Still, I do love diversity and hate speaking in generalities. Does that make me idiosyncratic? Or is that unique? Liberal maybe?

I'm with Craven on the competition. But I do dislike sore losers. If I lose, I always like to believe I've played my best. And I try not to be rude about losing............but sometimes I fail.

You know what I really dislike is Bill Bennett and his type. Bossy hypocrites. And republicans who live in track houses with rules about keeping their garage doors closed when not in use. And proselytizers. Espeically proselytizers.

the primary function of gated communities is to keep the residents inside the gates Wink

Dys, I had no idea it was an entire city! Driving by it looked like a development. Good grief, is there such a thing as a gated city?

Dys the world needs Moses 2. you sound like the man for the job

Jimi Hendrix did a song called "Highway Chile". That's what I wanna be when I grow up

YEAH
HIS GUITAR SWUNG ACROSS HIS BACK
HIS DUSTY BOOTS AND ITS HIS CADILLAC
A PAVEMENT HERE JUST A BLOWIN' IN THE WIND
AIN'T SEE A BED IN SO LONG IT'S A SIN

HE LEFT HOME WHEN HE WAS SEVENTEEN
THE REST OF THE WORLD HE LONGED TO SEE
AND EVERYBODY WHO KNOWS WAS BOSS
A ROLLING STONE GATHERS NO MOSS

NOW YOU PROBABLY CALL HIM A TRAMP
BUT IT GOES A LITTLE DEEPPER THAN THAT
HE'S A HIGHWAY CHILE

YEAH
NOW SOME PEOPLE SAY HE HAD A GIRL BACK HOME
WHO MESSED HIM AROOUND AND DID HIM PRETTY WRONG
THEY TELL ME IT KINDA HURT HIM BAD
KINDA MADE HIM FEEL PRETTY SAD

I COULDN'T SAY WHAT WENT THRU HIS MIND
ANYWAY HE LEFT THE WORLD BEHIND
AND EVERBODY KNOWS THE SAME OLD STORY
ANOTHER WAR YOU CAN'T LOSE IN GOLORY

NOW YOU MAY CALL HIM A TRAMP
BUT IT GOWAS A LITTLE DEEPER THAN THAT
HE'S A HIGHWAY CHILE
ONE MORE BROTHER
YEAH!

HIS GUITAR SWUNG ACROSS HIS BACK
HIS DUSTY BOOTS AND HIS HIS CADILLAC
A PAVEMENT HERE JUST A BLOWIN' IN THE WIND
AIN'T SEE A BED IN SO LONG IT'S A SIN

NOW YOU MAY CALL HIM A TRAMP
BUT I KNOW IT GO WAS A LITTLE DEPPER THAN THAT
HE'S A HIGHWAY CHILE
WALK ON BROTHER
DON'T LET NO ONE STOP YA

Goddamnityousonsofbitches! I cam here fired up to rant about the gas hogs, the gas hogs driven by individuals who never leave this pathetic freaking suburbanized excuse for a city, these 6 ton motherhumpers who don't even know how the freakin drive, who round corners at a tentative two miles an hour and still manage to run over what's around the bend, these jackasses who can't even keep their goddamn tank in a single lane and then try to jam it into a compact parking space, these bastardsandbitches who change lanes and only check for other cars at EYE LEVEL, which for them is a good four feet above the roof of my li'l civic, which picks up a new ding from some dickhead's high-mounted door every goddamn week and never so much as a note saying sorry, these motherfückers can kiss my goddamn pale pasty ass! (automobile efficiency in the US reached a two decade low in 2002; we bombed the crap out of an oil-producing nation in 2003; meanwhile subsaharan africa sits in shambles, waiting for the apocalypse. granted, they don't have 2003 navigators, tine phones, and hair gel, so who's going to notice?)

and what's with the freaking dudes with all the hair gel? come on, kids.

Well, I will admit that I hate the huge Lincolns and Cadillac SUVs. They are always in the way. But then I wouldn't drive a Lincoln or a Cadillac of any variety anyway. My SUV is a Land Cruiser and it gets good gas mileage. And I don't drive it all the time. Mostly I drive my Mercedes CLK AMG 55. It's fast and little, but it gets great gas mileage. When I drive the SUV it's usually been for hauling kids around or hauling stuff like plants for the garden. Maybe we could rant about people who are unmindful of the environment and drive the biggies for some status reason rather than for it's functionality. And any car that doesn't get good gas mileage I think is not fair to others. There's really no reason why an SUV has to be as big as the Cadillac, for instance.
