I am surrounded by grim and serious people during the day. Must find escape somewhere. (I've tried being my usual strange self in the hallways here; now most of the people avoid me as much as they can...)

A salutary attitude on the part of those people, Boss, i'd avoid you, as well, being the serious, together and success-oriented indiwidyoual that i be . . . .

Well, avoid me like the very smeggers today - I am as grim and serious as can be - I am even depressing myself - AND I can't sleep - here it is 5.00 am on the day I go back to work, and I am STILL awake.

Oh well, I decided if I couldn't beat it, I might as well do something....now, where can I spread my current gloom and doom and general ire? Hmmmmm....

Deb, Thank God, a kindred spirit. Sorry that you can't sleep. When I have that problem, I just get out the old New York Times crossword puzzle and listen to Rupert Brooks' monopoly game.

Hmmm - at the moment I might be best supplying the very cross words to the puzzle makers...not sure if they let that kind of language through, though...

You should pick a punch line and stick with it. I think you'll find it very satisfying in its finality -- that is to say, venality... vernality...

Down here just beg for alms.
They're starvin', cause there ain't no nuts
