Do you remember senator Joseph Mcarty and the house un-American committee. That too was supposed to protect America against a threat. How they used the spying done by the cross dressing lout J. Edgar Hoover to smear and destroy many Americans.

The government is not "spying on any citizen at any time for any reason". They are keeping tabs on people who attend anti-war/anti-government protest rallies and meet to organize those rallies. As I said before, what better breeding ground could a terrorist or terrorist organization have?

Ther not being treated "like goddamn terrorists!", they are being treated like Americans exercising their rights.

An anti-govt rally? Does anti-govt include any opposition political party? What kind of freedom do we really have if the party in power can use its police powers to eavesdrop on any citizen that disagrees with them?

If the Republicans don't understand this then they will get what they deserve when they no longer hold power.

I am not distressed in the least by the fact that you would choose to believe that.

I knew Tico and McG wouldn't disappoint me. ANYTHING is legal in our supposed fight against terrorism. There is no boundry that can't be crossed, there is no action which can't be taken.

I think Katrina showed the U.S. just how prepared this Admin is prepared against any disaster, natural or terrorist. They suck! They know they suck, and we know they suck!

The 9/11 commission is STILL trying to get them to inistitute the recommendations put forth by it, but Bush is too busy "fighting terrorism" to take those measures to heart and impliment them.

The unPatriot Act does one thing, it gives the Admin greater control over Americans ... and that's it! That is what is it designed to do, it has been one of the Holy Grails of the rightwing to get this power. They will abuse it as much as they wish to accomplish THEIR goals. They can count on good little soldiers like Tico and McG because they are staunch little rightwingers and will agree to anything which promotes the rightwing agenda!!

Oh? What is the dividing line? If it is Quakers instead of Democrats then it isn't going after political activity?

They are keeping tabs on anti-war rallies? Are those Republican events?

What does anti-war have to do with being a terrorist?

Because people are idiots squinney. Especially the young men and women who go to those rallies and get all hyped up on the anti-whatever garbage that is being spewed. Where do you think the suicide bombers in the middle east come from? Do you believe Americans are somehow not capable of equal atrocoties?

I would appreciate it very much if you and bear could keep your worship of me and my posts to yourselves and keep to the topic. I appreciate the adoration, but I'd prefer if you two (and anyone else) could keep to the topic.
