Okay, when did this Duke it out Thread become the Faith vs. Superstition thread? I thought we were not going to cross threads like that in here?

Hmmm. No wonder I am confused today.

Questioner,

Yes, duking it out. Not dragging anything from this thread to another or from another to this one. I made that promise and I'm doing my best to stick to it.

Ok good. For a moment there I was afraid you might actually try something rash like dialogue.

Yeah...the point is.....there are no points.

The fact is your responses thus far have presented no point, let alone validated any. Further, I submit your assertion "some things are better left unsaid", taken in context of your heretofore presented interactions, all but necessarilly implies it is your preference some positions and/or propositions be exempt from discussion, scrutiny, and criticism. I submit that whether you are unwilling or unable to substantively egage in an exchange of ideas pertinent to the matter at discussion is irrelevant; what is pertinant is that you have not done so.

How far back are you going? That preference I have is universal. Do I need to be the one who presents an idea? What ideas do you have?

Nothing about your religionist spew is universal. That is typical religionist conceit, however.

Who said anything about my religion? I was talking about how people are not willing to talk about everything that is on their mind....like questioner.

Timber says:Further, I submit your assertion "some things are better left unsaid", taken in context of your heretofore presented interactions, all but necessarilly implies it is your preference some positions be exempt from discussion, scrutiny, and criticism.

I asked questioner what his concerns about religion were....he said he did'nt want to say.

What kind of spew cometh from you? Conceit...is what you call it?Typical too?

I can logically go back no further than the Planck Horizon - nor can anyone else.

Quote:
That preference I have is universal.

I submit not only is that assertion neither demonstrated nor indicated, it in fact is contray to the observed condition.

Quote:
Do I need to be the one who presents an idea?

Whether or not you needed to - and I see no objective reason to conclude any such need might now exist or ever have existed - you have presented ideas - the idea of the Theory of Faith, at the very least, along with your most recent presentment of the idea that some particular preference be universal

Quote:
What ideas do you have?

Fair enough; for one, I have the idea you are either unable or unwilling to submit the idea of "Faith" to objective appraisal, scrutiny, discussion, and/or criticism. For another, I have the idea that constitutes a special pleading, and for a third, I have the idea special pleadings are specious.
