We qualified, but I'm not happy.
So you would prefer to be happy and mexico not qualify?

If we take this philosophically, yes, I'd prefer to be happy.

But since this is football we're talking about, after the original mixed feeling falling in favor of rage I got another mixed feeling which favors happiness for being qualified. After all I think Mexico deserved it more than Iran and Angola. The weak group ended up being a difference.

My boldest prediction before the WC started was that Czech Republic and the USA would advance out of group E. Embarrassed

One of our commentators is hilarious. He says, about an Aussie player diving, "stay on your feet, you may get the ball".

Well done aussie men.

Kalac to be consigned to the bench for the rest of this cup.

Yes, congrats Australia. Heart-in-mouth stuff near the end.

The commentator here thought Kewell might have been just offside for the equalising 2nd goal but added: "Was he active?" Was he heck - he scored, didn't he!

walter it is 7.00 am too early even for an aussie. plus full days work ahead of me.

Based on that performance i have my doubts Aust can proceed past Italy but who knows, I will certainly be cheering for our boys and proud.

Could we please have Mr. Graham Poll as referee against Argentina?

I mean, this guys act out even more than we do, but they don't get the yellow cards. They commit hard fouls and nothing happens...

We need an impartial ref. I think an Englishman can do wonders!

Boy, was I wrong!
Terrible referee. He didn't make himself respected by the players in the vibrant Australia-Croatia game.
He couldn't tell what happened on the last play (a penalty? a goal? an invalid goal?) so washed his hands and decided the match was over.
He didn't see two clear penalties in favor of Australia and let himself being pushed around by the Croats.

The Croats were good warriors, but the Aussies were better, and deserved to qualify.
Very very exciting game.

This was the sport they had lacked a bit. But now they're on the WC second round.

Can anybody deny that Australia is, overall, the best sporting country in the world?
