As for the squads themselves, I honestly think on paper England's is looking pretty good. I think our manager is working with the assumption that Rooney is highly unlikely to have much of an impact while Michael Owen should be fit from the start, hopefully. The inclusion of players like Walcott and Lennon add that bit of spark and excitement in terms of the unknown and in Gerrard and Lampard we have 2 players that scored approx 45 goals from midfield this season, not too shabby. The defensive players pick themselves for England in all fairness, mentality seems to be more key for England than formations and players on paper. Just how I see it of course.
Argentina, and Brazil who were able to leave this
player (video compilation of Alex de Souza) out of their squad, which really says it all, seem to have very strong squads this year will be tough to beat...I always fancy Italy when the competition is held in Europe though.
Watch out for Toni of Italy and David Villa of Spain as potential golden boot candidates, or for great striking ability if nothing else.
