If we play like the first half...no.

If Sven lets them off the leash and allows them to bang it about...we have a very good chance.

I dont think you can read too much into this game. TNT defended with 9 or 10 men in front of goal most of the time. Thats 18 or 20 legs.

At 75 mins I said to Mrs S, now it has to start. England have to start playing...and they did. Rooney made a difference, they started to get a grip, excellent ball in from Beckham...

I think I said at 75 min that its not too late to score 2 and I thought they could IF they started to play. And they did.

Playing not so well and getting 6 points is not bad!

England almost said goodbye to the world cup, what a poor performance, I bet any supporter wishes they already had their new manager.

England were never behind. Even had they been it would not have meant going home. We got 6 points from 2 games and qualify for the knockout stages with a game in hand and didnt play well. What more do you want?

Rooney seemed to spark a lethargic squad...he seemed to be saying "Here lads, this is how it's done"

A robber's dog could manage England better than Sven! What a job!

A bloody great pool of talent to choose from, first class trainers on hand to get them to their physical peak, and just tell them to go out and really enjoy themselves, apart from the defence, who have to sew up the goal area so that it is tighter than a duck's arse.

They would win most matches easily, if they just went and had fun out there.

Sweden looked a bit useful. I think they will be more than a handful for Sven's men.

Seems like the europeans are having tough times defeating non Argentina-Brasil Conmebol and Concacaf teams. I believe that the level gap between both the top contenders and the underdogs has been reduced up to a point...

Watched the England game at work last night. To my unknowledgable eyes they looked very good. A lot of talent in that side.

By the way, English fans managed their own riots in Liverpool, Manchester and Canary Wharf, London, at the outdoor TV screens. We don't need foreigners to have a punch-up, we can do that among ourselves just as easily.
So, the screens are being switched off. Eng-er-lund!

I got dragged out of bed at 6.30 am this morning. By a screaming Swedish exchange student. I thought all hell was breaking loose.

What did make me laugh was the mix of Swedish and English swearing.

Prediction; the Swedes do it to the Poms 2:1

Question. England beats Sweden, and Trinidad and Tobago beat Paraguay. Sweden and TT are both on four points, with same goal differences. How do they decide who goes through? (however unlikely the scenario may be).

You're question is irrelevant, indeed, Wilso: they are selling in England (Robinson/Stockport) already the winner's beer ...

OOH! Interesting point, Wilso.

If Sweden lose their next match 2 - 0, and Trinidad win theirs 1 - 0, they will, as you point out, be exactly the same on points and goal difference.

Maybe they will decide it by finding out who's longest in the showers? (nudge nudge).

Our resident expert, Mr Hinteler will come up with the answer, I'll bet.
