The game ended. A very good game, this is how WC games must be. Many of the previous games wof this WC were boring.

I'll have to watch it when I get home. I was hoping that Tunisia could make a good showing for Africa. A tie is certainly better than a loss.

We use both here in the land of flexible English, Mr. Correctipants.

Laughing George.

Speaking of terms in soccer, ahem, football, I keep hearing American announcers talking about "set pieces". Now, I haven't watched soc..football in several years but I don't remember hearing this term before. And frankly, I don't like it. It makes it sound like a damn chess match. Anybody know where it came from? Has it always been around and I just didn't notice?

But that's not only against FIFA-rules but makes really ear-pains!

A brief review, now that everyone has played:

Match played best: Italy-Ghana
Most exciting match (besides Mexico-Iran, of course Smile ): Australia-Japan
Most boring match: France-Switzerland
Best collective performance: Czech Republic
Worst collective performance: Ukraine
Best individual performance: Pavel Nedved (CZE)
Most beautiful goal: Fringgs (GER), among several great ones.
Best refereeing: England-Paraguay
Worst refereeing: Italy-Ghana

I imagine not everyone agrees, but it's my personal opinion.

only one slight divergence...I'll vote for the Tunisia_Saudi game as most exciting...even though it was a draw.
