I love that lamp, LionTamer!

I am supposed to be finding some lamps for our living room and I'm having a terrible time finding things I really like. Yours is very cool.

Hey dys - not a cave at all! I love Dianne's chair and the accumulation of books and things around it. That's a room that just says "home".

So I'm WAY late, and one of the rolls has disappeared, but here are a few pics from a roll I just picked up:

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d130/sozobe/Victorianglass.jpg

This stuff was a wedding gift from my mom, Victorian era. I put it out last Christmas and then left it out all year.

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d130/sozobe/knickknacks.jpg

Another wedding gift, an old printer's drawer, with a ton of weird little things in it that are hard to see, mostly stuff we've picked up on travels.

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d130/sozobe/mantelcropped.jpg

Another collection of stuff, on our mantel. (A bit of sozlet head wearing flower garland at the very bottom.) About 90% of it is gifts from people. The flower prints are circa 1923 and the wood frame is exactly the same as the mantel (circa 1920 something, but refinished).

A close-up. The wooden Chinese goddess was given to E.G. by a Chinese friend just before I met him; the mask we bought at an antique store in San Diego (no particular reason, we just liked it), and the Thai silver goddess was given to us by a friend who got it in Thailand. The goddesses are approximately equivalent, the goddess of compassion.

Yeah!

Thanks soz! What a lovely place. I love it. All the different textures and styles and the whole fun way it is mixed together.

Beautiful!

Thanks!

That collection of pics convey a busy-ness that isn't really true of the whole house; I just focused on those as interesting pockets, and they seem to share a theme (tons of STUFF.)

I hope to find the other roll with some pics of sozlet's bedroom, it's almost finished and I like how it's looking.

Cool! I love the cranberry glass (that is what you call it, no?) and the Asian pieces.

I like the glass in front of the window. They will look different each time with the changing light.
Is this a window sill or the top of a bookshelf or of another piece of furniture?
When I was a child my room had a wide window sill which I used as my favorite reading place.

Very nice collection of interesting items with stories behind them.

Cranberry glass, yep!

That's a wide window sill.

Sozlet's room has a window seat (a built-in chest in a nook, meant to be sat on), I love it, great for snuggling up and reading. (Her room is the old master bedroom in this house, our room is a modern addition.)

Still can't find the mystery roll with pics of her room, tho! Hmph. Can take more, I guess.

Boomer just reminded me that I didn't post the other pics I planned to, from the lost-but-then-found roll:

sozlet's room:

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d130/sozobe/room.jpg

The futon is gone, now she is using the twin bed which fits much better.

Note Beary on bed, and also her pink Chuck Taylors in front of window seat.

The flower collage was a couple of sets of prints I got at Target for $1/ each, so $2 total. (Covers a mural of Pooh-ian honey pots featuring an unfortunate shade of brown.)

This is the main installation I've done in this house so far -- installed the curtain rod over the nook, and then hemmed the curtains to fit. A favorite hang-out spot for her.

Also in that pic the pillows were being used to prop up the futon (she was still stuffy then), now there are 6 pillows (mostly red with pink and orange, then also two light green ones) lining the walls of the windowseat.

When I was a kid, our house had many hidden places. I loved to hang out there. I'll bet Sozlet does, too.

I love the window seat as well. I always wanted one.
