Well, today Vivienne had all her staples removed from her incision line. she's a bit sore, for sure.

She sees the doc again in a month for follow-up to check if things are looking good. It's a bit difficult, at this point, as she has some swelling in the abdomin area and still lots of fluid build-up.

Keeping our fingers crossed.

this is a not a bad idea, everyone with 10000 posts should have a thread kind of like this. it encourages people to talk on a more personal level- like we're real people?

hi, reyn. i looked at the list of topics you like best, but at the moment i can't think of anything in those categories. i'll pop by again and see if i think of anything.

Hi H, and thanks for the link. Probably wouldn't use it, but interesting anyways.

We would probably end up going to Vancouver first.

Take care!

Hello TG, and welcome to A2K.

I recently resurrected this old thread, as it was nice to talk about my wife's recent hernia operation.

Pop by anytime!

Good news, Reyn. If she needs to laugh, cough or sneeze, make sure she puts a pillow over the incision first! Doesn't hurt quite so badly ... I've had caesareans, so I've been there.

You must be relieved.

Hi Mame! How you liking all that rain? Did you guys get any hail today?

Yes, indeed, sneezing can be agonizing with any incision that big. I stand to be corrected on the staple count. Apparently, there were 34, not 32. Shocked Laughing

Also, while driving in the car, I have a pillow in front of her and the seat belt.

She had her first shower today, but could only do the top third of herself, due to lack of mobility. I made myself useful.

We're keeping our fingers crossed for long-term holding of the new repair.

Rain, rain, and more rain, but no hail in my neck of the woods. Wow, 34... that's a lot!

You're such a great guy the way you're helping her, Reyn.

Thanks, she'd do the same for me.

It was 17 degrees inside our place this morning. You bet the furnace went on! Brrr!

my desk buddy's husband works at the Toronto Stock Exchange. he called her just as the dollar hit parity. she put the call on speaker-phone ... shouting, bells, loud music ... it was exciting just listening to it.

How are you and Vivienne today, RainMaker?

Yeah, exciting stuff, for sure. My mind goes back to 1976 (I think).

Vivienne is coming along, albeit slowly. Gotta to increase the prune juice intake a bit more though. Those Tylenol 3s can slow down the gastro-intestinal tract, if ya knows what I mean.

good to hear from you , reyn !
don't overdose your good wife with prune juice !
do you have "dial-a-dietian" available ?
you might want to get some specific advice on "getting her system going" .
can vivienne tolerate regular food yet ? if so , try and introduce some "roughage" VERY SLOWLY - might take a few days for her to notice a difference , but should eventually help .
signing off for now - bedtime !
you all take care of each other !

you might want to give them a call :

Hi H!

She stopped taking it for a while and the OPPOsite happened, so she's got to ease back on for a while.

Thanks for the info, by the way. I'll tuck it away until a rainy day.

Looks like fall is definitely here on the west coast. Lots of cool days now.

As opposed to today here, it's 16 degrees Celsius, which is 60.8 degrees Fahrenheit. Laughing
