Hi Reyn.....unusual name. Is it short for Renoir, Renard, or Reynold?

I forgot to add that Reynold is the Anglicized verson of Reinout /Reinhold.

Would you believe that I was using an assumed name illegally until about 1987? Shocked

Reinout was the name that was on my Dutch birth certificate. According to my parents, teachers stated using Reynold in the classroom.

hehe, I got my Canadian citizenship in 1964 using Reynold. Got married to my 1st wife, divorced, and married to my 2nd wife all using Reynold! Also, passport

In 1987, I made Reynold my legal 1st name.

My wife and I frequently joke that our marriage isn't really 'legal'. Laughing

sooo.... back to your wife. what was the whole story?

haha, Not too much more to tell. We met via a dating service back in 1978. Got married in 1979.

I had just bought my first new car in '78. A VW Rabbit. Orange. Laughing

On our first date, I took her to a movie. I bet if I asked her, she'd remember the movie. We had a hot chocolate after the show at a restaurant next door.

Our birth daughter was born in 1980. She turned 25 this year.

Actually, I got out of the Navy at the first opportunity and went back to my wicked lubber's ways. Give me an old fashioned freight train ride any day.

I like the title of this show, "Chat with Reyn"

Sounds so friendly, like "Coffee Talk" from SNL.

Just coffee and talk, no big whoop.

Excuse me, I'm getting a little vaklempt - talk amongst yourself for a minute, I'll propose a topic.....

Good morning, Reyn! Although you're at work, I thought I'd drop by for a quick howdy do and see what was new. Smile

Wow, you've been married almost as long as I would have been had I actually stayed married the first time. Boy, that seems like forever ago!

You mentioned you have a daughter who is 25? You said she was your "birth daughter". Does this mean you also have more "non-birth" children? Is your daughter married? Just asking...I do have a 26 year old very handsome son.....

I take it you must be a wee bit older than myself.

How long were you in the Navy?

I like trains myself, but it's been an awful long time since I've been on one.

Well, I left it open-ended, so it can go wherever it goes.

Just a bunch of good folks having a nice talk.

Well, it's not so much a show, but folks /friends just dropping into Reyn's place and pulling up a chair and having a chat on any topic that they choose to.

Eventually, maybe when folks get bored of asking me about my life, we can talk about timely stories in the news. Myself, I like the "little unknown stories" that don't get much exposure.

Or, we can yak about what's happening in our town, down the block, etc.

Lots of possibilities. The thing is to keep it casual and friendly.

I served from 1962 until Jan 1965. It was a three year enlistment, with three months early out to go to school. At the time, I had no car. Deducing it was too dangerous hitch hiking, I took to riding freights.
But, enough about me; why didn't you get your pilot's license?

Well hello the soon new bride-to-be! Laughing

Yes, our anniversary is in May, so we've now been married 26 years. My wife is the best!

Yes, we have 2 daughters. The older one turned 25 last August and is our birth daughter. The younger one turned 23 last January. We adopted her in 1987 at age 6. She was a "special needs" child. Neither one is married.

Drop in anytime!
