I think I did figure the boy to live with the old folks, but it's been long enough I could be wrongly recalling it.

we just came back from 'the talking pictures'.
we saw 'casanova' filmed on location in venice.
the shots of venice alone are worth the price of admission ... and jeremy irons is a splendid bishop and grand inquisitor. i may decide to become a bishop myself - have to tell mrs h , could she be mrs bishop ? hbg

Haven't seen or heard of that one. Sounds like you enjoyed it.

Now then:

This afternoon, we're going out to the movie theatre and seeing "Syriana" with Tom Clooney. I've seen a trailer and it looks promising.

I can't recommend "Syriana" at all. The acting was great. Clooney, Damon, et al were fine, but the plot was so bloody complicated that it made my head spin.

And I wasn't the only one. Vivienne (who is pretty darn clever at figuring plots out) didn't grasp all the sub-plots either. We heard similar comment from others leaving the theatre.

Overall, yes, it was about oil, and they wanted to knock off a certain person, etc, but if a person doesn't get all the follow-up to the climax, it's got to be a lousy show, no matter who's in it.

Anybody else see this and agree?

I don't go to the show much. Last time was when Titanic was playing. When certain ones hits DVD I purchase them.

Why buy them? I can't imagine too many shows that I would want to watch over and over again.

A comedy or a actioner, I could see. You can probably laugh again, but how about a mystery? Once you know the outcome of the plot, it rather spoils it.

Why not just rent them?

The ones I intend to watch a few more times, I keep. The rest, I pass on to family or the apartments' film library.

chess is a game for people without the intellectual strength to engage in checkers.

absolutely, dys. it's ok to make mistakes in chess, as long as you don't make the last one. but real
checkers players never make mistakes, i know. Smile

I spent one year teaching in the state prison, the really hord core convicts played endless games of chess while the relatively harmless petty criminals played dominos or checkers.

in my teens, i played chess now & then in a park. i shudder to think what unsavory characters i was potentially associating with.

A perfect record? I laugh at that.

Yes, I can see that you've challenged chessman2810. When you get a chance, you should look at his Player History Page. It's obvious how he achieved his record, and that is by playing lower rated players. Don't count e-trade, his record isn't honest either.

So, I'd go for it and give it your all.

Yeah, us chess players are just too damn devious.
