We ate burritos earlier. Got to have something totally different tonight.

I like burritos, too. A bit of sour cream on them goes great.

Not sure yet what we're having at this point. Will report later.... Laughing

It's shrimp with rice. One of my favourites.

We got a good deal on some shrimp a while back, so we loaded up with extra packages.

Corn beef is good. Do you heat it up, or anything?

I am of the opinion that husbands should buy all the groceries. That way you know you are getting full supplies of all the necessaries and not getting rationed in them.

interesting 'burger, meself and the lady diane enjoy shopping together. we don't do it every time, sometimes me and sometimes her but mostly together. Odd it is that we seldom encounter other couples doing that. It seems lotsa men consider it a "woman's thing".

no fear of being rationed - we both make sure we have plenty of the "necessities of life" in the cupboards - and i make sure we also stock plenty of the items that make life "more pleasurable", such as : nicely smoked ham, some nice cheeses, wine and some "good cheer"(highly recommended by my physician to aid the digestion - unfortunately the insurance won't pay for this "medication" - those rotters !). hbg

Just kidding. The wife and I make it a ritual to shop together every Saturday.

Could be, could be! Laughing

That's the thing when you tune into "Chat With Reyn", you're never quite sure what you'll end up with!

I try to keep it somewhat varied. Hopefully not too boring, and nothing too heavy. Lots of that around elsewheres.

I can't speak for anybody else, but Vivienne and I always have done the shopping together.

Now that we're sort-of-like retired, we try to stay away from weekends, and shop when the other old farts shop. Laughing

Hey, our home insurance agent has been giving me and others 50+ a discount on our insurance. I didn't think I'd live long enough to get a discount on anything!

Watch out 60!

My husband and I never shop together. I put a stop to that when he started throwing all kinds of unneccesary foods into the cart, simply because it was on sale. He has such a weakness for that type of thing and we would always end up arguing in the store. Who needs that?

Ah, yes, one must be careful in some of these stores. In ours, sometime there are red tags everywhere trying to fool you that there's an item on sale, when it's not.

Not to brag, but I think my wife and I work good as a team. I carry along a calculator and make sure if something's a deal or not.

One thing we watch for is over ringing at the register. One time were were not careful and got charged for 12 seedless watermellons, when we actually got one cheaper model with seeds. We didn't catch it right away, because we bought a bigger bill of groceries than normal. They refunded the money, but it was a bit of a hassle, since we live about 15 minutes away.

Grocery shopping is a chore, not date night.

I try to get hubby to go whenever possible. When I can't get out of it, I time it so he'll be home to unload the bags & put everything away.

I hear you on this one, Edgar. My wife watches the register readout while I unpack the grocery cart. Many times, we double check the receipt tape before leaving the store after we've paid, just to make sure all is okay.

That's my job anyways. My wife isn't supposed to lift anything too heavy. So, I unload the car and bring the bags in. We also get our water refilled at the store where we shop. It's those large size bottles and they're fairly heavy and awkward to carry.

I am usually too tired after shopping to bring in the groceries, I take a nap while the lady diane does that.
