Margo, that sounds very encouraging, 2 for 1 huh?

My nephew who lives in Dublin is about to go there for a year. His girlfriend is going as part of her job training, he's going along for the ride.

Maybe he could pack me in his suitcase?

Think of all the shopping I could do Cool

We're still warm here in North Texas- temps should top out around 72F today with strong winds out of the South to 35mph. Later on we're supposed to get another 'cold' front dropping us into the 40's at night.
Hopefully it will clear the skies for watching the meteor showers later. These Leonid meteors are the likes of which won't be seen again until 2099[/size] Exclamation

I woke up to 44 degrees in central Florida. If I had cojones, they would be freezing. It is now up to 55, and will reach 66 by mid afternoon. the sky is bright blue, and it is dry.

For those of you who have never lived in Florida, after awhile, your blood turns to water ( actually there is another expression I use, but I don't think that it would get past the censors! Laughing ), and anything under 65 degrees is BRRR!

A guide on the Endeavour? I have friends who have done that, at various places around Australia and overseas. One has just recently been doing her guiding bit while it was in Whitby, UK. They find it quite addictive.

Misti - get over here! Summer's coming - you can stay warm, as well (bloody hot, more likely, but...)

Margo, just let me know when summer hits, okay? I don't do cold at all ... I'm freezing right now and it's in the 60's, but the low end!

I'm starting to save my pennies, so batton down the hatches, full steam ahead!

Margo - Your friends speak the truth, it is addictive and quite fun... not too hard either, though I admit my first tour group got a few flaky answers to their questions! Rolling Eyes Never one to admit defeat, I kept going and became reasonably competent. The Endeavour was here in the Gig for three weeks. Quite a lovely sight. I gave the first tour and the last... that one to Mr. PFK who got to roam the entire ship at will with me by his side, providing various statistics, trivia and facts (all forgotten now).

Ma! You're killin me!

Florida has great weather ~ I won't disagree. But this cool change is such a relief! It kinda sorta makes up for the lack of change in season.

Come on! Put the woolies on and be happy! For me? Please? Can we keep the windows open tonight? (I know.....I'm pushin my luck.....)

Love ya, mean it!

Hi Roger! You know Rae hates the heat, and I'm the opposite! One of the reason I left the northeast was because of the weather, and I DO NOT MISS IT!

I'm quite happy in the heat and humidity. I can always get cool but yah can't always get warm!

MrsC and I got up at ~4AM to watch for the Leonid meteor shower. As soon as I walked into the back room, which has large windows looking out across Lake Worth to the North, I saw one streak across the sky. We walked out onto the dock and watched for about a half hour until it got too cold for nightclothes and robes. It was a pretty decent display inspite of the full moon's presence. We probably were seeing 4-5 per minute at the peak time. For more news on meteors, See- http://www.msnbc.com/news/836634.asp

Gorgeous weather here again today with highs near 70 Cool

Misti,

Come on down!
Summer's here, almost - official start is 1 December, but the weather is great right now. T-shirt weather at 5.30am, breakfast in the back yard as the sun comes up, and then spoil the day by going to work Crying or Very sad

The weather will be good through to April, but January and February will be humid

Jees, we could do with some rain, though!

Getting a weather break of sorts. A monsoon trough wil be passing over Guam for the next few days, lots of rain. But, on the bright side the formation is not expected to form into a typhoon until it passes by. Hope it doesn't though, normally when a typhoon forms after it passes Guam it runs into the Phillipines, Taiwan, China or Japan and causes loss of life.

In 96 we had super typhoon Paka run through here just before Christmas, man did that put a damper on the holiday season. Power was out for about three months, luckily we had running water throughout many people didn't. Since normal Guam weather is sort of like sitting in a sauna, no air conditioning makes for flaring tempers. The thing that amazed most people including the CNN crew that came here to film the aftermath is that nobody was killed, or seriously injured. I think that disappointed them they didn't come back for the last typhoon this summer.
