c.i., your weather folks must have gone to school with mine. Last night they were forecasting 5" of snow beginning tonight and ending early on Christmas Eve. This morning that had changed to 1½" of ice with a smidgeon of snow on top. I suppose we'll know for sure on Boxing Day, although they'll probably report it wrong, even then.
Must be hell havin' sunny weather for Christmas. Actually I have had quite a few Christmases in Phoenix, which ain't bad. One year the Hyatt was trucking in snow from the mountains about 100 miles away in order to furnish an outdoor ice rink. They had several of the U.S. Olympic skaters performing in 70º weather. What the heck ... it's only money, for pete's sake.
Debacle, With a lot of good memories to boot! As you say, it's only $$$$$, and we can't take it where we are all headed.

Snow is very pretty in a painting, but that's where it ends with me. Give me sunshine, heat, and the tropics, I'm alive!
same here, ice cubes are about as close to anything like snow that i want to be near.
Pueo, we have the same kind of blood, and that's okay with me:)
it's about 3:40 pm tuesday here. what time is it there?
Pueo, it's 12:40 a.m. here in Florida ....... nice, warm, I love it! 70's today, fantastic!
I'll bet you're loving having water again!
oh yeah, you can do without a lot of things but water is a must.
Even if it is just for ice cubes and a shower:)
Rather cool and overcast here today and they're predicting the same for Christmas day. Be the first cool Christmas day in years.
We've had no snow to speak of so far this year (couple of flurries).. But they're promising (threatening?) a major snowstorm for Christmas day! Great excuse for not going out to do anything. Great weather for sitting by a roaring fire and looking out the window at the swirling flakes. I love it (in moderation).
Getting ready for Christmas, which starts here tonight at dusk.
All shops are closed now, now it starts to get quiet.
The sky is grey- and the first flurries are tumbling down.
Looks like an old fashioned romantic Christmas.
Merry Christmas to all of you.
Just got a call from Setanta - getting ready to go home, get his stuff and head out to the airport and fly here. Crossing fingers and toes that he beats the storm that's been promised.
They're forecasting 18 - 20 hours of snow tomorrow.
Our sky is grey too, but no flurries. Whether we get rain today is a good guess. Today, I have to go pick up some pies at Mari Callendars, and go get a haircut. Otherwise, nothing planned. c.i.
Snowed again last night, still snowing and it is only suppose to get to 31 degrees. Looks like a white Christmas!
It rains cats and dogs, windy and pretty cold for Israel (55°F or 13°C). But I like such a weather. Israeli humid heat that lasts 9 months out of 12 drives me crazy.
steissd, Is that the primary reason why you wish to immigrate to the states? c.i.
RESPONSE TO C.I.
Not exactly. If the only problem referred to weather, I would prefer to return to the Russian Federation (I can restore my citizenship in several weeks according to the Russian laws).
Frankly speaking, I am fed up with the Middle East. I do not mean terrorism and politics. I mean the style of life, the temperament of the people, the ways they deliver jokes, the ethics of the everyday life, even the music that appears in the background. I am a European by my ethnic origin (my father was an ethnic German, my mother is a European Jewess), and I do not see much of compatibility between me and the area I live in. These feelings of mine have nothing to do with racism: let the Mideastern people live their lives as they like; but without me, if possible.
Of course, I would like to live in Europe, but the EU countries do not accept immigrants (except refugees, but I am not the one). So, I make an attempt to immigrate to one of the countries that do. Meanwhile, I am in the middle of proceedings on my application to immigrate to Australia (my former occupation and skills appear in the list of the required professions).

Good luck with your application for Oz! I'm biased, but believe it's a great place to live.
The weather this morning? Overcast, dribbling rain (not the downpour needed to counter record drought conditions) & promising to become a fine, mild & sunny Christmas. Not bad!
