In all good conscience I can't tell you about our weather here in SO FL today and lately. I feel bad for my dear friends in the northeast, Midwest and all the way down to Texas who have such crappy winter weather so early in the year.

Had a few sprinkles this a.m., nothing serious, the sun continued to shine through the raindrops. Fine now, fleecy white clouds obscuring an azure sky. Temp. about 80 degrees F. or thereabouts.

The opposite here - well, not quite the opposite, today one of the warmer days of this week, a week that started out strikingly cold. Yesterday my thermostat went out. It was easy enough to figure what was wrong (needed new batteries), but took me another couple of hours - with rest phases since I was so aggravated - to program the thing again. Criminy. Anyway, like this kind of thing usually goes, once you don't have something like heat, you have renewed appreciation when you get it back. Going down to 24F tonight.

I woke up this morning to 72 degrees, with the rain coming down in buckets. I know this is Florida, where everything seems a bit out of sync, but thunder in December????
