True to Michigan style where the only reliable weather report is looking out your window.

You can say the same for Florida weather also! No matter what the meteorologists say, it's always contradictory to the moment.

We had a great thunderstorm this evening, with lots of rain and lightening and in one hour it was gone!

Just love it!

SNOW! The first snow this fall - can you believe it - October 21 and it's snowing. Just last Wednesday I was out walking in the Austrian mountains wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt.

That's amazing.

It's raining in Nuremberg.

It's sunny here, as it was yesterday too, perfect weather.

Well, we forget the 'bad' weather fast - in October 2003 we had -5°C around this time here .... and snow for nearly one week

(What actually was the only winter time in 2003/4)

It's been raining much of the day in Virginia! And getting heavier right now. First rain in six weeks. Hooray. I'm singing in the rain.

It's cooled off quite a bit over the past two days. Still nice.

Cross your fingers that you don't get the type of rain that went through Ohio earlier this week, rjb. We're still recovering from the resulting work in our office. Bad bad bad accidents.

My radio, tuned to an NPR station based 100 miles SW of Cville, has been going BRACK...BRACK..BRACK all afternoon, followed by weather service advisories of tornado sightings. So far, well south of me.

It's been foggy and grey for days now. It seems like the day never really starts. It's not very cold - around 8°C, but it feels cold. It makes me sleepy.

I'd better turn the furnace on tomorrrow. Not today - it's still 16 Celsius (60 Fahrenheit).

This morning, first day of official winter time, the weather here is horrible....wet, cold, & windy, and the rain has just intensified outside my window (prompting this post) to a monsoon-like downpour.

But strangely the sky is quite light, so it will probably not last long.

Odd.

quite a nice fall day - still about 8 C , but a stiff breeze bloing from the north .
took a drive eastward along the st. lawrence river for about 50 km to enjoy the fall colours .
this is the 1,000 ISLAND region - actually more than 1,000 , haven't counted thm lately - across from upper NY state .

so here is another picture of the ST. LAWRENCE RIVER/1,000 ISLANDS - taken this morning .

http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/8281/1000islands009dd1.jpg

it's just about where the river starts its 750 mile march toward the GULF OF ST. LAWRENCE and the atlantic ocean .
had hoped to see some - or at least one - ocean-going ship , but no ships to be seen - except one of the 1,000 island tourboats out of gananoque .
