Acquiunk - that's what is normally done in this industry.

Slappy - sorry you didn't get the job. Mind if I ask what you're going for?

WHat's outside sales mean?

And, I was just thinking, I do know rationaly that I can do just about anything I set my mind to, and I do think I have marketable skills, I just wonder if I can convince someone else of that.

'course, littlek.

Slappy, you ain't getting my kidney, even if you give me 5% of the gross. That's final.

Don't worry about "convincing," just be confident. Outside sales means you're going to the customer, not the customer coming to you(like what I'm doing now). So I'd be on the road going hospital to hospital trying to get ahold of the doctors.

Soz...don't give me any objections. You've got another, and 5% is more than reasonable. Now fork it over.

If it's sales, you've got it made in the shade. I mean, you're this close to talking me into giving you my kidney.

OK, so my hands were a couple yards apart when I said "this", but still...

Did you know that I'm the lovable lil' guy from Different Strokes, Gary Coleman?

I did, actually. I know you're modest about it, but your essential Gary-ness comes through loud and clear.

k, my goodness gal...have you lost your mind??!!
No, but really..to even consider
#1 moving in with your sister????
#2 Double the work at less the pay????
#3 At something you've been struggling with, and knowing its not your lifelong career????
I know..its you..but, STILL.
Listen to everyone here....
two kids...two pay...thats just the way it is, and when you arent there <now dont think about their worries...they arent thinking about yours> not only will they be paying someone more..it will be lots more...this is not your problem.
Is your health insurance or ira theirs? How about your bills? A
re they concerned they arent paying you enough to have a nice home?
If they bought a nice home, and have a child and want more..they need to consider how to pay for that..thats life, thats reality.
Dont be a sucker...really. You'll always love those kids, and they'll always love you...and no matter it will all work out...however, dont let that all get in the way.
The montessori school things sounds good actually. There are options for you..find them, research them, get your stuff together gal Wink

No one seems to get this: that partial pay increase with a second/third/fourth child is normal business in the nanny world.

I'll chime in on your side, littlek. A discount for additional children is also the norm for things like day camps and some private schools. Even some commercial daycares.

I had a terrific daycare person when my daughter was small. She lived only two doors away and ran a small in-home daycare. She usually had three or four preschoolers, and they all got lots of attention and care. My daughter learned to play chess before first grade, they all had piano lessons and a computer to mess around with, and they went out for a walk or bus ride every day. For my girl, an only child, it was very much like having brothers and sisters!

I wonder why your sister won't consider letting you watch others with her kids. Woudn't it be good for her children to exercise their social skills with others about their own age?

Hi Wy, welcome to a2k! Thanks for the input!

My neice is in pre-school with other kids 3 times a week. She gets to socialize there.
