Yes, long overdue to use the word ilk. I was wondering how long it would take you to break and down stop bothering to try to differentiate between people and just go ahead and say "ilk". Good job. Fighting is easier when everyone has a side.

DIANE : hah! yep, my wife's aunt is of a similar mind. she doesn't bother us at our yearly christmas party, but she used to give my father in law a bit of a hard time and does not allow alcohol in her house. she's really quite religious. and also a very sweet old girl. just don't show up with a sixer..

I am not an ilk! I am a number, Number 7 to be precise. To be an ilk one must have certain specified characteristics, swear an oath and pay dues just to drink at their bar. I'll have none of that my friend. Besides, I don't think catholics or jews are allowed to be ilks, only prostrates.

My demented crone-ilk trumps your ilk-sibs. Age counts for something once in a while.

And yes, the women's movement was closely aligned, if not originated in, the anti-alcohol movement. And may, although I can't quite remember, have been seen, from a sociological perspective, to have originated thusly.

I like the word thusly too.
