Sorry, I haven't visited the thread in a while.
There's plenty of public transportation available, as long as you're willing to brave 97 degree weather at 80% humidity while you're waiting, and walking between the bus stop and your destination.
A scooter might be practical during decent weather. Or an electric bike, which you can put on the bus bike rack.
