Should we handle victory the way the Christian god decrees?

No, he respects and loves us all, can't you tell?

thanks Frank,
riddle me this. agnostic is latin for " to not know" or without knowledge if so why direspect that which we do not know?
'

Actually...the word agnostic is a coined word derived from Greek...not Latin. Thomas Huxley coined the word to differentiate his philosophy from that of his atheistic friends. His difficulty arose from the fact that many of the atheists were asserting that there were no gods....which he saw to be unknown...just as he saw "there is a God" to be an unknown.

I'm not sure what you mean about "disrepect for that which we do not know."

Put some flesh on this...and I will respond.

I said I loved you folks. I said nothing about respecting any of you. Try not to put words in my mouth.

S'okay, Frank - you don't make any sense either way, so it doesn't matter that much whether your spurious spoutings about "loving" us "folks" get misquoted to include respect. You don't do any of one, and very little of the other.

Frank is your position that there is no God or that there is and you just don't agree with his rules and don't see the love in him?
if your position is that there is no God then you are gnostic meaning to know. if your position is that you don't know if there is or not, then agnostic is right and the flesh is if you are not sure one way or the other, then some of the name calling in the previous posts "id..t" +++is towards something you are not sure about.

Neither.

I do not know if there is a God; I do not know that there are no gods; I do not see enough unambiguous evidence upon which to base a meaningful guess.

It is not even my position that the god of the Bible does not exist. It may. If it does...or if it is, as is my guess, merely fiction...it still is an abomination. The god of the Bible...whether real or fiction...is a jealous, vindictive, vengeful, quick-to-anger slow-to-forgive, tyrannical, psychotic, murderous, petty, barbarian.

"If" Queen Elizabeth II had balls...she'd be King of England.

Your "ifs" are huge.

No it isn't.

I can read the Bible...and I can get a fairly good impression about the nature of the god described in it. I can share my feelings, opinions, and concerns about the god...whether it exists...or is fiction...and whether or not I know which it is.

Your reasoning is all screwed up here, Doc. Think about it for a while...and you will see that it is.

I'm still interesting in lots of conversation with you.

Frank, from what i understand is that your not sure whether God exists or not, but i further understand that you might be leaning towards the fact that he does exist and just is not a very nice Entity.
if i am remotely correct is because i have also struggled with some of the things in the Bible, however when i look around and learn about echo systems and micro echo systems or just a rain storm i fail for one moment to comprehend something so complex and yet so simple as being an accident, there had to be in my opinion a creator of this Earth spinning at what? 17,000 miles an hour through space for how long now? without hitting something. to me the big bang theory is the same as saying that a tornado hit a junk yard and when it was all over with, there was a 747 jet fully functioning left out of the mess...just doesn't, compute with me...the reason i can converse with you without getting offensive defensive or judgemental, is because i have been through those questions and always came to the conclusion that the facts seem to indicate at one thing least we can hopefully agree on is that in life there seems to be a duality to nature, hot-cold up-down, east-west you get my point, with that said good and evil also exist... and and they both have advocates in this world. and how do you tell what kind of tree your looking at, by the fruit it bares.

How can I possibly love everyone? I've only met a very small percentage of the people of this world. I'm proud to say, though, that I have friends all around the world, and that includes Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, France, Germany, England, Egypt, Tanzania, Iran, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Argentina, Bulgaria, Hong Kong, and all across the US.

When I go to Singapore early next month, I'm having dinner with friends.

Not even close to correct.

You are not remotely correct...so the rest really does not follow.
