Should we handle victory the way the Christian god decrees?

Does God make little boys sick so we can all cry a tear about kind hearted firemen?

Did you take that out of Chicken Soup for the MiddleAged Christian Soul book?

Rolling Eyes

Hell - I was waiting for a punch-line.
By the half way point I was convinced that I was reading something by
Monty Python.

Frightening that.

Actually I thought the story was very nice but it does contain that age old enigma as to why bad things happen to good people.

But as long as there are good people who can be role models in the face of adversity... who, by means of courage and devotion demonstrate God's love in the midst of their own trials...

People ignore the "devil" as a possible reason for why good people are attacked... it is part of human rationalization... even good people rationalize about spiritual matters... this rationalization can be a spiritual doorway for misfortune...

Peace with God

That would make Satan more powerful than your particular God then.... or am I dumb or something?

The true God does not possess.

The true God warned us that there would be consequences for sin. And the simplest definition of sin, when you boil everything down to the bare essentials, is that which harms yourself and/or others. So sin can be just about anything from littering to nuclear war, eating foods that are bad for you, building stuff out of harmful substances, or driving too fast on the freeway. The culmination of the collective sins of the world are what has spoiled God's otherwise pretty neat creation. Sometimes it was intentional. Probably most times it was not.

But it is because of that collective sin and because there are bad/careless/ignorant/foolish/etc. people (sinners) in the world that bad things happen to good people. And in some way at some time we all are sinners.

If people would just learn to do it God's way, we would have a lot less problems. We can't blame everything on the Devil.
