Walter, you been researching Kate Moss and Claudia in an effort to learn about cricket?

....Well I suppose you have to start somewhere...not a bad place really, especially if you dont actually like the game.

Bloody weather and light - or lack thereof!

I dozed off at the rain break after lunch, and surfaced just as they're wandering off in bad light!

So - at 3.30am, cricket's gone, I'm wide awake - reading the paper and playing on this machine.

But - I've just discovered there's tennis - Roger Federer and that well known yobbo from South Australia, Lleyton Hewitt! Semi-finals of US Open. See ya later!

just enough for Aus to get a faint glimmer of hope

then snuff it out

we can be so cruel

Well, what a day Sunday turned out to be!

Flintoff ripped through the Aussies....and Shane was OUT FOR A DUCK!

All out for 367.......HOORAH!

England stood at 34-1, when Steve's weather prediction came true and they all buggered off because of bad light.

Funniest comment of the day (radio 5 live)...from two Aussies, watching the match from somewhere down under.

When asked what they thought of England choosing to leave the field because of poor light (first time), one replied: " I can understand it....Shane WAS bowling at 58 poms an hour"

Priceless.

Should be a great day of cricket ahead......weather set fair, and light is adequate.

Whoever wins this deserves the applause. Both teams have succeeded in giving their best, and we should all be proud, whatever our nationality.

Good luck everyone.

"Good luck everyone" !!

What sort of perverted sentiments are those? This is about beating the Australians, not some gentlemanly game.

Really LordE you must maintain a proper sense of inbalance and partisanship in these matters. I had to reprimand Margo earlier for similarly being far too even handed and generally not behaving like a beastly Australian as we know they all are really especially Warney...

Splice the mainbrace

I think it is just about wrapped up now. 5.45pm, tea at six, Vaughan will declare....they wont bother coming out to bat, as there is nothing to gain.

Well done lads!

Well done and farewell to Glen Mc Grath and Shane Warne. Stupendous players, who are retiring from the international scene before the next Ashes.

Shane Warne must be about the best spinner the world of cricket has ever seen.

He also takes a bloody good thrashing pretty well.

<Sorry Margo.......couldnt resist.>
