Poll: Do you miss Trump?

I can't speak for anyone else here on this site but I one sure don't. I feel like the Trump administration was like one big bad soap opera - there was too much drama and uneasiness when Trump was in office.

He did do some GOOD things when he was in office, but I think the cons outweigh the pros. He did a number of things that went against what's in the Constitution; he abused his powers as president. He created a number of upsets. I am not an expert on law but I know the president is not supposed to bomb any nations without consulting Congress first. Checks and balances exist for a reason.

Who knows what would have happened if Hillary Clinton won the presidency back in 2016; at least that woman had some political experience.

Trump was a national embarrassment and an international laughingstock. I am not saying this to be disrespectful. I prayed for him and his administrative office.

I remember when he gave a speech at the U.N.; all the other U.N. delegates laughed at him. I heard and read about the embarrassing behavior he exhibited when he visited other countries.

Trump tried to act like some kind of dictator when he was in office. I think he was the most racist American president I have seen and/or heard of since Reagan.

Trump was compared to Calvin Coolidge and Herbert Hoover, two of the worst presidents in American history.

He was very antienvironmental which was BAD. He undid a lot of environmentalist regulations. He tried to get rid of Obamacare and FAILED and he never got his "Trumpcare" instituted. He never got that wall completed in Mexico that he promised he was going to build. He claimed he was pro-Israel but because of his actions in Israel the country was handed over to the Palestinians. The Bible says it belongs to the Jews.

He did not take the Covid-19 pandemic and crisis seriously and under HIS leadership a LOT of people died from Covid-19. Biden was RIGHT to call Trump out about this during the 2020 presidential debates.

That was a BIG dealbreaker during the 2020 American presidential election.

He tried to take healthcare away from boomers and the disabled in the middle of the pandemic. He was interesting in benefitting the rich.

While it is true African American unemployment was at an all-time low when Trump was in office, it seemed he really didn't care for African Americans.

Trump was accused of using political dog whistles to appease White supremacists when he was in office.

Trump had very RACIST attitudes regarding immigration to the U.S. His immigration bans were deemed unconstitutional.

I don't know of any other American president in history who would have had the temerity to publicly refer to Haiti, Latin American and African countries as crapholes. He could have used a LOT more tact.

Trump IMO spent WAY TOO MUCH time on Twitter. He should have taken his job more seriously.

Twitter was right to ban him after he incited a riot at Washington D.C. after losing the 2020 presidential election.

I think the man was out of his mind. No American presidential candidate ever pulled a stunt like that because they lost an election before, as far as I know.

I remember a LOT of people complained about the stuff Trump did. A lot of these people voted for Trump. I think Trump was the first president in American history to be disliked by both the Democrats and the Republicans.

Something is WRONG when your OWN PARTY doesn't like you.

No I don't miss Trump. I haven't been keeping up with the news too closely, partly because I don't have TV service for the time being, but things feel PEACEFUL with Trump not being in office.

What about you? Do you miss Trump?

Please help. Thank you.

I kind of wonder what Trump's been up to since he left office.

@JGoldman10,
That's a surprisingly good synopsis of his presidency.

I'm very glad he's not in the White House but he hasn't disappeared either — he still casts a malignant shadow on the Republican Party and his presidency left an indelible stain on this country and its reputation abroad.

Think of all the good qualities a president ought to have. Trump is the opposite of them all.

@hightor,
Thank you and I corrected my initial post. I forgot to mention that I never heard of any U.S. president firing so many people from his Cabinet in such a short period of time. He seemed like he was on some kind of firing frenzy. Seems like he prompted a lot of people from his Cabinet to resign too.

Trump was a bit hypocritical - he criticized Obama for doing certain things but he did some of these things himself. Trump criticized Obama for his use of drones when Trump's drone strikes far exceed Obama's:

@JGoldman10,
Mr. Obama actually took charge of the dronestrikes.

Mr. Trump just let the military do what they wanted with no supervision, and he likely didn't know about 99% of the dronestrikes that took place under his watch.

I should add: I see nothing wrong with dronestrikes. We are at war with al-Qa'ida, and it is lawful to attack enemy soldiers in wartime.

@oralloy,
As I said Trump created a lot of upsets. Gutting environmentalist regulations wasn't the only crazy thing Trump did, he gutted a LOT of different kinds of regulations when he was in office. Did Trump do this so he could get a profit out of it?

@JGoldman10,
We are at war with al-Qa'ida because of 9/11.

@oralloy,
Oh right. So the war came about as a response to U.S. troops killing Bin Laden? Why are they waiting till NOW to have the war? Bin Laden was captured and killed and his cronies were captured years ago.

@oralloy,
You didn't answer my other question. Did Trump gut a lot of regulations just so he could profit off of doing that?

@JGoldman10,
I have no idea. He may have gutted regulations. I don't know.

If he did, his motivation was probably because some lobbyist talked him into it.

The war came about as a response to the 9/11 attacks.

JGoldman10 wrote:

The war started in 2001. It is ongoing.

Richard Nixon's actions on October 20, 1973 before his impeachment trial led to the resignations of the Attorney General, the Deputy Attorney General, and the firing of the Special Prosecutor. This is now known as the Saturday Night Massacre.

Trump had a longstanding habit of firing people via his tweets or someone else. I don't think he actually fired anyone in person.

@oralloy,
If there's actually a 2-decade war going on how come the media hasn't been covering it? I have not heard, seen and/or read about ANY members of the U.S. Armed Forces doing any fighting in any war in the Middle East in the last two decades. Only news I recall about any activity going on in the Middle East involving American military in the last two decades was the capture and killing of Saddam Hussein and Bin Laden. I know Trump launched drone strikes on Syria and Iran when he was in office but I don't know if any American military was involved.

Is this "war" you are referring to kind of like a "Cold War"-type of thing?
