@Frank Apisa,
I don't intend falling out with anyone over this.

It's difference of opinion.

I don't think he's a particularly heroic figure, I think he is a bit of a self publicist, and I don't think he handled things very well.

@Frank Apisa,
And I agree. A whistle blower faces the music and makes his defense, like Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers, or the Berrigan Brothers with their civil disobedience.

What about Mark Felt, aka Deep Throat, he wasn't identified until 31 years after Nixon's resignation and 11 years afted his death?

At the time he was suffering from demsntia and incapable of standing trial if indeed there was one.

He did however, blow the whistle to a repurable news organisation who released details in the national interest along with other trusted news organs. He didn't give the details to a publish and be damned idiot like Assange.

@izzythepush,
I think this should be a separate post.

I don't like Assange at all, but I don't think he should be extradited to America to face charges. He is an Australian citizen and not subject to American law.

If I was in a pub in Portsmouth and I found some top secret American documents and decided to sell them to the Chinese, I shouldn't be extradited to America at all. I should face charges in the UK, (and I'm sure I would.)

However, if I was in a bar in New York and the same thing happened then I should be extradited back to the US to face charges.

@izzythepush,
Assange should have been extradited to Sweden to face rape charges there.

But if he spends a number of years in a high security prison while he resists extradition to the US, maybe that is some small measure of justice for the women he raped.

He said he was exposing war crimes, the Obama administration said otherwise, and we'll never know, and the main beneficiary is Putin.

Snowden never named a single war crime.

What Snowden did was damage our ability to detect terror cells before they strike. This paved the way for terrorist attacks in Europe in subsequent years.

Sweden doesn't want him.

We have this thing called reality, it appears to have slipped you by.

@izzythepush,
That is incorrect. Sweden tried to extradite him.

Sweden only gave up after too much time had passed due to Assange successfully evading justice.

There was no official misconduct.

ALL criminals need to face justice. Criminal public officials, especially.

That went out the window when the Democrats said that Bill Clinton was above the law.

But in this case there was no crime committed. This is just another case of progressives lynching innocent white people.

Pretty sure you can just say "people" without needing to add color.

They don't want him any more.

Reality, the here and now, not back then.

This is why I don't bothered with you, you're completely divorced from reality, don't appreciate the difference between fact the opinion and bring nothing to the fiscussion.

You don't bring any sources for discussion, all you do contradict what others have already said. You're like the character in the Python sketch just disagreeing with anything that doesn't forward your far right, and, (as McGentrix has already pointed out,) profoundly racist agenda.

Progressives try to lynch white people specifically, and they do so because of anti-white racism.

Only because he successfully eluded justice.

The past was quite real.

Wrong. Everything that I've said is true.

izzythepush wrote:

Wrong again. It's only the progressives here who have trouble with that.

izzythepush wrote:

I bring facts and logic to the discussion.

What is asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.

That said, I always provide a cite when people ask for one.

There is nothing racist about my agenda. Neither has anyone pointed out any racism in my agenda.

@izzythepush,
If the Bureau had caught him, we'd have known of him sooner. Woodward and Bernstein were able to cloak him with their 1st Amendment press rights. He'd have been making a positive defense if the FBI had caught him.

@izzythepush,
No, Izzy, it's all good. We're discussing things with all sorts of implication and ready conclusions: some logical, some not. I personally don't have any grief over anything you've opined.

I welcome having my vista widened. Thank-you for being outspoken.
