Impressive. If you concentrate just so, you can probably convince yourself that your **** doesn’t stink.

True. That was a gross injustice which let Nixon off the hook criminally (as I said, it's very difficult to bring those at the top to their proper ends) but he was removed from power and that's more important.

Putting a stop to a leftist witch hunt is the exact opposite of injustice.

First, the range of threats to Trump are far greater than with Nixon in subject (not merely political) and in investigations proceeding against him. But also, as you know, his AG John Mitchell, a powerful man in his own right, spent 19 months in jail.

These leftist witch hunts are why it is so important that we outlaw the Democratic Party in America.

@oralloy,
stupid as usual. kthat will never happen, for one reason because dems are the majority party in the country and repubs are simply a lickspittle miknority for one corrupt politician who loses every election he is involved in. for another, witch hunt is simply what you calkl any investigaton into republican misfeasance and your problem is that the misfeasance is real.

New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo announces resignation in effort to head off likely impeachment

Quote:
New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo (D) announced his resignation Tuesday in an effort to head off a looming impeachment effort in the state Assembly after a state investigation found he sexually harassed 11 women and oversaw an unlawful attempt to exact retribution against one of his accusers.

“Wasting energy on distractions is the last thing that state government should be doing,” Cuomo said in a video address. “And I cannot be the cause of that.”
.....
Cuomo’s decision to step down represents a crushing defeat for the three-term Democratic governor, who had remained defiant through months of escalating scandal. He repeatedly denied improperly touching women — even as accusations mounted — and dismissed the harassment claims as a misinterpretation of his affectionate political style and attempts to build office camaraderie.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/andrew-cuomo-resigns/2021/08/10/cfd44154-7ac2-11eb-b3d1-9e5aa3d5220c_story.html

Took him long enough to resign. One would think he would have done so after the allegations began to pile up and the party leaders all said he should resign.

If you message me your address, I'll mail a sample. You be the judge. It's the scientific way to go.

@blatham,
While it's illegal to harass others by sending them poop, it's entirely legal to get poop shipped to someone (or even to yourself) for entertainment or gag purposes. ... So if you decide to mail poop to someone, consider your intent before your criminal record hits the fan.

However, upon snood's approval, we could all mail him a sample to obtain a fair judgement. Now, that would be scientific and legal.

See? You really DO have doubts. Lemme help you out here, Blatham. Your **** stinks like everyone else’s, rest assured.

And when you try to dress up a stupid idea of yours with dressy words to pass it off as oh so genteel and intelligent, it’s still just bullshit.

And when you can’t admit you’re wrong, it doesn’t make you wittier and more clever than everyone else. It just makes you dishonest and cowardly.

@snood,
Hey, buddy, this response takes me by surprise. I've always been fond of you and have no negatives in my noggin about you. I've never thought you stupid. I've never insulted you nor had any resentment towards you that might lead to insults. Honestly.

We have a difference of opinion on what Trump might suffer in the future for his acts. That's not any kind of big deal. Either of us might be guessing incorrectly and I wouldn't put a wager on either of our guesses. I have no certainty I'm right.

If you find my responses dismissive or as some sort of attempt to evade, you're misreading my words and intentions. Because I truly like you and because I don't think either of us can be certain about the outcomes here, I've not been anything but light-hearted in this conversation. I swear it.

It's hard to have a conversation if you aren't face to face. Easy to misread the other. I hope you two can get by this and remain friendly.

Talking of posting poo, there was a letter in Viz that said, “Apparently on average her majesty the Queen receives two packets of **** in the post every week. What I want to know is, who is sending the other one?”

Excuse the length of this post, but I feel the need to say it, and hope that those of you who have expressed concern about the tone of my answers to Blatham will read.

Just for the sake of argument, I will point out that if people on this forum don’t say, we don’t if know someone’s car just sank into a sinkhole, or if they hit the lottery for several thousand dollars. We don’t know if the person you’re interacting with just met the partner of their dreams, or if their dog died.

We don’t know what’s going on in people’s lives. And human beings don’t always have the ability to perfectly compartmentalize their feelings away from their expressions, either verbally or physically or
in writing. That’s why people say to wait a couple hours before sending that angry email - because you may well feel differently when you have a chance to let your heart rate slow down.

Outside of posting together in this forum for years, we really don’t know each other well enough to get all “shocked” and pearl-clutchy if someone’s response about something is a little more tart than usual.

Having said all that, I’ll tell you as honestly as I know how:

I really did have a visceral reaction to Blatham’s answers when I pressed him about Trump being brought to justice. He’s always kind of cheeky, and I know it’s just his way of posting here, and I generally have no problem with that.

But the idea of Trump evading justice for his 50+ years as an adult is not something I can easily stomach being flippant about.

I felt (and feel) that none of you are as deeply infuriated as I am by the inability of any authority to do justice to Trump. I think that it grates at me in a special way; I think it brings into my consciousness all the memories and awareness of how often I don’t think authorities have been just with me - or with people who look like me and have my size of bank account.

I think some people enjoy the privilege of never having to think seriously about whether the CEOs, or the police or the lawyers or the courts would deal fairly with you. I think some people live with an internalized security that they have nothing to fear if they’ve done nothing wrong. I have never felt that way. And my feelings get reinforced regularly.

Donald Trump brings all that into stark relief. And the **** isn’t funny to me.

Thanks for letting me share.

@snood,
You and blatham are both thugs who engage in name-calling. I don't see why it should be any surprise that you occasionally attack each other.

Your silly witch hunts against Mr. Trump are not in any way justice. You are just another Stalinist progressive who wants to imprison anyone who doesn't agree with you. It is proper that your witch hunts come to nothing.

If you actually cared about right and wrong, where were you when Bill Clinton was committing all those felonies in the White House?

Wrong. There is nothing real about the phony accusations that progressives make against people who disagree with their demented ideology.

I feel as strongly about Trump not getting nailed as he deserves. If it weren't for citizens getting so thoroughly disgusted with Trump as to vote in unprecedented numbers to overcome the blocks to fair voting Biden would likely have lost the election. Trump has been the most destabilizing presence I've witnessed in my lifetime. So far he has skated. I share the desire to have him indicted and convicted for his crimes. I rarely write about him, but only because he seems to thrive on the negatives thrown at him. The free publicity.

@edgarblythe,
a) Can you name an actual crime that Mr. Trump has committed?

b) Where was your outrage when Mr. Clinton was committing all those felonies in the White House?
