Why are people protesting and rioting in the midst of the Covid-19 crisis?

@Sturgis,
The Bible says 120 years is the most God has given us.

John 10:10 - "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."

I should say promised us. There have been accounts of people in recent years who have lived past 120 years.

@JGoldman10,
How does that John verse relate to God promising people 120 years? That verse is about how Satan (the thief) means to hurt people and how Jesus (the speaker) wants to help people.

When I checked, the promise is in Genesis 6:3, "Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years."

@Rebelofnj,
I was talking about Jesus giving people an abundant life. Jesus is about life not death.

Sturgis was the one talking about death. He was the one being negative. I don't want to think about death.

@Rebelofnj,
The Bible says that people originally lived for 100's to 1000's of years, but because of mankind's wickedness the most God was going to promise was 120 years.

John 10:10 - "Then the LORD said, 'My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.' "

@Rebelofnj,
Jesus wants people to have a long life.

Psalm 91:16 - "With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation."

@JGoldman10,
You mixed up your verses again, which shouldn't happen to a devout Christian.

You wrote John 10:10, then quoted Genesis 6:3

And the promise of living up to 120 years is going to be repeatedly broken due to the advancement of modern medicine allowing more people to live beyond 100 years. Scientists have said that the first person to live to 150 years has already been born.

@Rebelofnj,
I know I'm mixing Scriptures up, thank you. I was going to correct what I posted.

@Rebelofnj,
I'm aware that because of the advancements in modern medicine people are living longer. I've seen stuff online about this.

I don't know about Sturgis and Rebel but I want to go up in the Rapture. My American Christian penpal believes it's going to happen very soon. He's waiting for it and counting on it.

@JGoldman10,
It's unlikely that it is going to happen in our lifetimes.

I think it's unlikely to happen at all. But if it does happen I wouldn't count on it happening anytime soon.

In the meantime I'd like to look into getting a good life insurance policy for myself and my mother. My mother has gotten various multiple notices in the mail about life insurance but unfortunately because of the crisis the rehab center she's in is closed to the public and nothing is supposed to go in and out of it. I can't even give my mother her mail right now.

I hope my sister is looking into getting a good life insurance policy for herself, her son and my brother.

This is important.

@oralloy,
No one knows when the Rapture is going to happen. Jesus said it Himself.

However, a lot of events going on in the world right now point to the Book of Revelation. A lot of biblical prophecies have to be fulfilled before He returns, and they are being fulfilled.

@JGoldman10,
Not interested.

I already have a list of verses to inspire me to live a good life. Maybe not a long life, but a good one.

Given my family's medical history and genetics, I'll be happy to live past 75.

@JGoldman10,
Revelation is pretty vague. Current events will always be pointing to it.

I think that if we meet God, it will be when we die. I don't think there is likely to be a rapture shortcut waiting for us.

Not that I wouldn't mind being swept up to Heaven mind you. Although if it does happen I might be one of the ones left behind. I'm not super religious, and might not meet the criteria.
