One answer would be to arrest any white guy breaking windows and photographing their 3%, boogaloo bois, atomwaffen tattoos and getting a grip on whats really happening after curfew.

That's not going to solve the problem of destroying property to stimulate economic activity.

Something needs to happen where if property does get destroyed, it doesn't have the intended effect.

If you want to stimulate economic activity, the proper way to do it is to discuss it, not provoke acts of destruction of old property.

It is an authoritarian attack to go ahead and demolish whatever you want in order to stimulate rebuilding/construction. It's the economic equivalent of raping someone rather than asking for consent.

Justifying it by reference to police brutality is like coming home work and saying your boss was really hard on you and then losing your temper and raping your roommate.

People have a right demonstrate peacefully, not destroy property. Something should be done to prevent them from achieving their goal of forcing economic investment in the rebuilding, e.g. BY NOT REBUILDING.

I like the idea of letting these thugs stew in their own self-created poverty.

But what about innocent store owners who were only trying to run a business, and who had nothing to do with the destruction of their property?

Would you support giving them funds to set up a new business somewhere else? Or are they just going to be ruined because some thug burned down their business?

Or tax breaks, but wouldn't that create an incentive for business owners to provoke people into damaging their properties to cash in on the aftereffects?

Think of these riots as collective insurance fraud scams. If a single business owner can get a thug to throw a brick through his window, he can collect the insurance and get a kickback from his window-repair business friend; so this is basically the same idea on a larger/collective scale.

See the problem? How do prevent people from benefiting economically from launching property-destruction-campaigns in the name of 'political demonstration?'

The owners of these businesses do not want them destroyed by these violent thugs.

And they really, really don't want their unarmed, compliant, uanaccused males killed in the streets anymore.

Like the guy with a piece of lumber beating a woman business owner with two other men helping him?

That's not their complaint at all. They want to be allowed to murder police officers and white people with impunity.

Cherry picking undocumented anecdotes don't mean very much.

You have no way of knowing who has an interest in having their property destroyed or for what reason.

Some people want money from insurance payouts. Some people want to declare losses on their taxes. Some people are probably not making money and they would just like their property taxes to go down.

There are lots of reasons to want your property destroyed.

You have no way of knowing either. What if it were your business that was ruined by one of these riots?

6 Atlanta officers charged after confrontation with college students

Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard on Tuesday announced that six officers face criminal charges after the arrest of two Atlanta college students during the city's curfew crackdown Saturday.

Video of Atlanta police officers pulling the students from a car and shocking them with Tasers has sparked national outrage and resulted in the termination of two of the cops. The others have been placed on desk duty.

The victims, 20-year-old Spelman College student Taniyah Pilgrim and 22-year-old former Morehouse College student Messiah Young, were near downtown Atlanta when they were confronted by the group of police officers, AJC.com previously reported.
