@ehBeth,
You oughta go over to lake Erie near Windsor Theres an area of gravel that contains agates and jasper from the lower shiled .Stuff was smooshed by the glaciers down the way from NE to SW . What you do is look at all the glacier scratches in the rock and follow it SW (lake E will be on yer left) Just walk along the gravel beds , not sandy beaches.
We used to find puddinstones that you could turn into jewelry . Ill see if I cant find a picture . Sounds like you guys take walks and this gives ya something to do besides taking pictures of saw whet owls. (not that theres anything wrong with that)

@farmerman,
Beth, heres a slice of a puddinstone. They are basically a conglomerate with all kinds of colorful 'a maraschino" bits made of carnelian and red jasper and varied color agates in a sand and silt matrix viz

@Borat Sister,
how you drink it?? I like mine with Splenda (Its the closest to sugar when you dint use much of the real thing. Its a smokey bit of wonderfulness. Especially with a breakfast of 4 min poached eggs over buttered toast, OUR girls eggs are really big so they need to be at room temp and boiled 4 minutes in pre boiling water. Small glassa orange juice and the eggs and lapsang.

@farmerman,
I made a mistake. It appears this puddinstone is a breccia not a conglomerate. A breccia has all the inclusion rocks all busted up and a conglomerate is like a cement with creek pebbles all rounded. Sorry

@glitterbag,
Poached eggs make me queasy. Actually, scrambly eggs do as well...
That done with, what type of bread is being used for this toast?

And do I get my own pot of coffee?

@Sturgis,
I tend to like rye or pumpernickel bread....but we have a 'Great Harvest Bread Company' and they make bread fresh daily and can make a dense hearty type of white bread that is the total opposite of that crap they call white bread.

Can you do eggs over easy??? Or is that urp-inducing as well?

@Sturgis,
My mother would spread cream cheese on lightly toasted pumpernickel and every so often would jazz it up with a little jam or jelly.

Have you tried monkfruit sweetner?

I love it for when I want sweet hot tea for a change of pace.

@chai2,
Even though I am no longer a Catholic I find the destruction of a celibate monk's fruit, rather repugnant.

@farmerman,
Hey, just a minute......what's the difference between a 4 minute poached egg and all the other poached eggs? And don't tell me a 2 or 3 minute egg, 4 minutes is great if you like your egg a little firmer......Did you mean to say soft boiled?
