Gus, is that really you? You look like you've lost 50 pounds. What was her name? Us Southwest babes are real exotic.

The Canajun contingent arrives at theBear's bedside - all in sundresses, sans undies. It's a vision! Cool

I'll have to borrow a sundress though. Should I shave my legs? At least I won't have to decide between boxers or briefs that day. No photos, please!

I can loan you a nice dress, Intrepid. I suspect theBear is more of a boob man than a leg man - so, do get your razor ready.

Now just hold on a minute there. Donning a sundress and shaving my legs is one thing. I will not get a boob job for the bear or anybody else. I am willing to get a couple of melons from the market, but that is as far as I will go. Man, hurry up Bear....you're killing me here.

Good grief... am I the last to hear everything? Really sorry to hear that the Bear suffered for six weeks and is now in the hospital. I hope he's doing lots better and that you are getting some sleep, Squinney. Please give him my best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I'm sending him this smoochy photo... thought he might appreciate how we're holding up.

Thank you.

Really looking for a note from Squinney. Hopefully, you're getting needed rest, but (looks at watch) I must say you are late with my update.

Bear, you and children in my thoughts.

So sorry to hear Bear's miserable in the hospital. I'm hoping for his recovery. Squinney, please tell Bear for me that he's not allowed to have these kinds of problems. And when he gets better, we'll all have to have a talk with him.

I'll be back tomorrow with my sun dress and.....well, who wears undies?

Get well Bear.

Sorry for the delay.

I got home around 5:30 pm and they called me back in at 7:00 to come sit with him through the night. He had ripped out another IV and removed the pads / snaps for his heart monitor.

Bad Bear!

Another sleepless night. He woke up around 3 (if you can call it that since he's still so "out there") and tried to get out of bed. Aid came in to re-hook him and asked if he wanted a gown.

"Don't you want a gown? Do you wear gowns?"

Bear responded without missing a beat, "Well, just that one New Years Eve, but I was really drunk."

Thought the lady was gonna fall down. She did not come back with a gown.

Interesting mumblings throughout the night.

"The party's over. Let's go home."

"How much do I owe you?"

"I gotta rehearse. Bring me my guitar."

Anyways, at one point he said "One more day. Just one more day." So, he must have some concept of time. Hope he's not thinking he'll just walk out after surgery tomorrow.

Labs are good, doing much better overall. Just gotta get him through tomorrow. He seems to think that will bring him huge relief.

ThatBear. He's a stubborn dude.

Looked at some pix last night, trying to focus some good energy. Maybe I overdid it - didn't mean for him to be ripping stuff off himself!

Thanks for the update, Squinney. Don't forget to take care of yourself.

Squinney,

Making Bear behave.......sure. I send my sympathy.

I can sympathize with the Bear as well. I was in the hospital a few years ago with an emergency appendectomy. There were complications and I had to stay in the hospital for almost a week. I was miserable! I had good care in the emergency room but after the surgery.....I thought I was going to be murdered by my nurse who couldn't operate the needle part of the IV. She stuck me 11 times before I finally managed in my drugged state to insist she get someone who did know how to do the deed. And then she started talking about witchcraft and I was paranoid already..........it was a nightmare. It's not easy being a patient in the hospital, especially if you don't like to be told what to do.

But my family had it the worst, I think. They had to make me behave. Bernie and I have you and Bear in our thoughts and we send our love.

Keep us informed when you can.
