Would that not be John Dickinson's Letters from a Farmer in Pennsylvania, and therefore date from 1767 and 1768?

Has anyone noticed yet it says

"Never marry a really hot women?"

See, cause that might change the dynamics. If one could marry several hot women at once, perhaps that would put them in their place sort of and it could all work better? Twisted Evil

Actually, though, I think the guy would be sliding closer to marital hell.

Ah, here we are:

J. Hector de Crèvecouer, Letters from an American Farmer (Philadelphia: Matthew Carey, 1793)

How very sly of him . . . the use of that title would have immediately boosted his sales, as Dickinson's ealier Letters from a Farmer in Pennsylvania were seminal documents in the movement toward revolution, and were very widely disseminated and discussed.

What a wiley Frenchman M. de Crèvecouer was!

Yeah, i noticed right away; but it is bad form to take notice of such errors in online fora--unless, of course, one is intent upon a scurrilous attack upon and humiliation of the poster, in which case it is not only acceptable, but recommended.

I have to admit to not knowing the origin any further than 'The American Farmer' you could well be right.

You have to be aware that your country has special qualities obtained in its formation and manufactured by its breeding and history. It is rather unique in any known formation of mankind as a nation. The peculiarities it holds onto are particularly splendid in their own designs. America has indeed a splendid policy of firing out the fools! I admire that. It was a nation blessed with every possible source for manufacturing in general. It can lay claim to marvellous ingenuity by its pioneers and ensure it distances itself from ever having to face those needs again.
Like everything else in conjunction with man kind as a whole it will make mistakes. Its thoughts of self protection and preservation are futuristic also and that is sound judgement. Its the cracks it fails to cover, and the light gets in! That is her present danger and lack of proper control of. You know only too well of the things I refer to.

. . . Yeah, we're special . . . as in Special Olympics . . .

Not necessarily special Setanta, different!

Nobody interferes with American Policy either, especially 'Home Policy'
The American way of life and that means consumption of energy is it's source of preservation. Nothing would be permitted to stand in its way. Might is right after all. So of course you 'get to do it'

Do they all agree (historically, in the present, and into the future) on the policy regarding marrying hot women?

I felt like I've been nuked by hot women before. And not only American women, though they tend to be among the worst.

They are darlings Setanta, all of them.

Let us have wine and women, mirth and laughter,
Sermons and soda water the day after.

I have known a few American women, they are ok

Well maybe they treat you better because it sounds like you are the foreigner?

Its that foreigner deal. Are you English or French?

Either way: I'm sure you've seen the phenomena of women from your own country liking Americans simply because they are American? We get the same thing in reverse here. There's a whole class of women who just seem to melt in the presence of a French or English dude. Everything else being equal, they like the foreigner. Weird. Perhaps just something different.

American woman, Mama let me be
Don't come aknockin' 'round my door
I don't want to see your face no more
I got more important things to do
Than spend my time growin' old with you . . .

Now thats what I'm talking about.

And even keeping in mind your prior eloquent and convincing post re: The Beautiful Woman, I still say:

Men: Beware. The Hot American Woman. Beware. You will wish you had been nuked! At least when you are nuked, that death is quick, painless, and merciful.

Ah, but therein also lies the rub.

You may be the one to find the Hot Beautiful Woman who is also a Beautiful Loyal Soul that will love you forever and lift up your life.

Or nuke you.

I guess in the end I'd say: "Yeah, go ahead and Marry the Hot Woman. Just keep your eyes open."

Yes I have to admit the English tongue proves a remarkable attraction to your women. In turn their accents and there is a tremendous choice of accents throughout The USA are a special attraction to Englishmen as far as I am concerned.
The phenomena is indeed reciprocated on this side of the 'pond.'

Then again, I find I am drawn to most alternative tongues, Dutch, Swedish and French in particular have 'a steamy reaction' to my being. This is one of the benefits of having travelled well. You cannot gain these experiences by reading or viewing movies for instance. It has to be experienced in total reality.

The planet offers a vast array of 'hot women' indeed.
