Okay I have had this theory for a while - and I think it works for both genders - tell me if I am just on crack.

Really hot women that were cute when kids, pretty when adolescents, and hot when adults - never, in our society, had to develop a personality. It is proven that prettier defendant get less time when on trial, get more promotions, and are treated nicer in situations - I think this carries over to all facets of life - as sad as that is.

When I say personality I mean, sense of humor, friendliness, ability to work for what she wants and so on.

I have seen so many of these people not even be able to cope when they get to college and there are MANY of the calibre people around them and they are not the center of attention. I have seen these types of people drop out, get married to a hot guy (who also has no personality) and be miserable.

Here is my thesis. Marry a woman who used to be fat, or blossomed late - and NOW is hot. In this case (speaking as a male - and I am sure I will be hammered for this) you get the best of both worlds. Good looking and great personality.

Okay - let me have it and know that this is just a light hearted pseudo theory of mine.

Your theory really has little to do with looks. It has to do with how kids are raised. A child that never has to work for anything doesn't know how to cope when no longer the center of attention. I heard a piece on this on NPR a month or so ago. The beautiful parents with only one child will spend all there effort making their child beautiful to the world so it is what you see. Take away all the accoutrements and they are really no more physically beautiful than 100 other kids. Paris Hilton is the perfect example. Amazing what a billion $$ can do for someone that without it would be considered butt ugly.

Well, I wouldn't give such across the board statements,
as I know women who have great personality, are caring
and charming despite being attractive, and successful in their lives.
I also know women who are bitter and consider
themselves disadvantaged due to their looks and capabilities
thereof. Their ability to develop a winning personality is handicapped by their own perception of feeling unattractive.
They base their misfortune in life solely on the absence of looks.

The key - as always - is to feel comfortable with yourself,
no matter how you look. If you're loved and accepted in
your circle, nothing else matters. Wink

TTF, your thoughts are not way off. It's painfully logical actually. A person of lesser phyical attraction will have to be more interesting in order to keep somone's attention on them. A beautiful person does not need to answer cleverly or have interesting stories to get attention, so they develop less skills in these areas. Just like you said, though this is fairly black and white. A norwegian multi millionaire, she got rich on her own efforts and skills (not physical), is also one of the hottest babes in our small country.
