I just found this thread. Didn't know it existed. I'll be around that weekend. What's the planned venue again? Jake Wirth's and/or Union Oyster House are both excellent suggestions -- quintessentially Bostonian.

i thought we settled on Jacob Wirth. I'm in for whatever.

Yes, Jacob Wirth's is the plan for Friday evening but without looking I don't remember if we established a time to rendezvous. How about sixish? Too early? Sevenish better?

Jacob Wirth Restaurant, 33 Stuart St., Boston, MA, (617) 338-8586. A casual bar and restaurant serving authentic German cuisine and 18 brews on tap. On Fri., there's live German music and sing-alongs. Food served until closing. Open on Sun. and Mon. from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., on Tues., Wed., and Thurs. until 11 p.m., and on Fri. and Sat. until midnight. No cover.

And yes, I was looking for local opinion and suggestions on other eating options.

Am PMing a couple of you my digits. Distribute to others as necessary.

Is this, like, the Wendy's digits in chili conspiracy planning thread?

If it were, what good would it do to admit it publicly? ;-)

(I'll be rubbing Lash's nose in the poopie later.)

Should be a good time of year to be here.

I understand it's pretty cool up there still. And wet.

(I hate to unpack a jacket ... Houston hit 96 degrees yesterday. It's dog days here already.)

Could you place an order for a couple of sunshiny days for the weekend for us, please? Temperatures between 40-60 are fine...heck, even overcast is acceptable, I suppose.

No rain, though.

I gotta get up that way sometime soon. I was born in Lowell, a ton of my family including my mother is buried in Chelmsford and I even have some live relatives up there. With careful planning I could get in and out without having to see them.
