@cicerone imposter,
well, gonna be taking anothers boat (a water displacement hull, which is a kind of spiffed up "ocean going canal boat") and going back up to Eastport with two other couples. Weve all been in our "bubble" since our last trip and we are looking fwd to this. verybody is a good sailor and Im licensed soooo , ANYWAY Its getting really kinda toxic around here so getting back into natures realm is what me and Ms F want to do. Ill be able to periodically check in, all these boats are hot-spotted via sat nav and if you guys know the reln of how fast a water displacement hull can go( Walter can do the math better than I but its a 55 ft kind of commuter boat outfitted for blue water and I doubt we will be able to do more than 9k). (SQ root of length of wetted surfce(ft) X 1.34) = max velocity
We hope to o some more whale watching as these lugs get set to continue south. Last trip we had a bunch of Minke whales standing upright in the water and they followed us almost like we were a posse.
Adios for a week or two (no plans or schedules ) We got a really good rate for the boat and its a rather thrifty albeit slow boat . Burns probably about 2 gal/hr / engine for 4 gal/hr. Diesel will be a few thousand bucks and food and moorings and an emergencies. What the hell, nobody gets out alive.
We leave on Fri . One of the amigos is thinking of doing a vlog. (I hate them because most of em are so mindless and narcissistic , but its their vlog.
We may make it to Sable Island if weather holds and winter doesnt creep in . (Although Iwouldnt mind, at let the damn boatl top 9 k)
