My answer is...

If you are over 16 years old,and you commit a CRIMINAL ACT,that either accidently or intentionally results in the death of another person, then you deserve the death penalty.
There are 2 exceptions to this rule.
People that are mentally retarded,or people that are committing the crime under Duress.

How hard is that to understand?

Or any consumer product....

Some poor schmuck doesn't wear his seatbelt... boom! Death penalty for GM execs that have embezzled funds or been creative on their tax returns.

Well ... there are a lot of liberals in Maryland.

DC is the murder capital of the US, I believe.

...and is currently held by a conservative majority.... Twisted Evil

Unless I'm very mistaken, the darkest blue spot on the US 2004 Election Red/Blue map is located in Washington D.C. (89.7% voted for Kerry). Twisted Evil

That's why it was a joke.

MM, you didn't answer my earlier post:
DrewDad wrote:
And what's the penalty for say, armed robbery?

Burglary?

Vandalism?

Littering?

I'm not talking about if someone dies or is killed. What's the punishment for the crimes themselves?

MM - answer yes or no then about the littering and banana peel - it is against the law to litter - you drop a banana peel and some clumsy fool slips on it, hits his head and dies instantly - the litter bug is then put to death - yes or no?

Why,are people that work in hospitals going to commit CRIMINAL ACTS?
You seem to overlook that part.

If you mean armed robbery where nobody is killed..20 years minimum. With no parole.
20 years to the day after you go in prison, they open the gates and let you out.
Burglary?
If you survive it,you get a minimum of 5 years,no parole.

Vandalism?
! year minimum, plus you pay ALL the costs of repair,no matter how long it takes you.

Littering?
You have a choice.
Push a broom on the city streets for a month,or do 10 days in jail.
Its up to you.

Linnkat,
YES!!!
If it can be proven who the litterer is,then yes!
Again, littering is a crime, and if in the commission of that crime someone dies, then the offender also forfeits his or her life.

And what is the burden of proof that must be met? You're advocating some pretty harsh sentences, here. Is it still just "beyond a reasonable doubt?" Or is the burden of proof harder to meet? Or easier?
