If Jesus died to forgive us, then why is there a Hell?

So the loving God cannot be accused of sending anyone there.
The promise of everlasting life on earth is still available to Adam's descendants, made possible by Jesus' propitiatory sacrifice, taking the place of Adam.
It may be hard to believe God actually loves you, especially after listening to my educated co posters, but it is true.

How do you know any of this stuff?

Or are you just guessing?
I'm so sorry, Frank. I'd have to use the bible to prove my point, and I'd hate to offend you. But you don't really believe you have an immortal soul, do you? Laughing

I have no idea is I have an immortal soul or not.

And there really doesn't seem to be any good reason to guess about it.

In any case, I ask again:
How do you know the stuff you assert as fact?

Theists use that same argument, xingu.

It doesn't wash.

There is absolutely nothing reliable to be learned about death by coming close to death.

I defy any of these people who claim to have experienced this NDE thing to show that they were not merely experiencing an hallucination.

And I hope you recognize that because the experiences have similar components...does not validate them.

Frank, how do you know that there is nothing to be learned from nde?

I did not say there is nothing to be learned. I quite specifically said that there is nothing reliable to be learned.

And there isn't....because one cannot discount the possibility of hallucination.

A wise man appears to be crazy sometimes and has to mere people a very strange behaviour...Wisdom is said to be a holy madness!
I think and firmly believe that statements like we have an immortal soul and spirit stands on,but I also know the unique formula for Immortality is held by the supreme doctor-God Himself! Very Happy

So your the Second Coming?

Gads, I thought you were suppose to be accompanied by horrific earthquakes and volcanic eruptions that will kill millions.

My Dear, I havent asserted I was Jesus Himself!No...I am very small compared to Him

Many people think that Jesus was the only Son (or Man Consciantly in Contact with God).

In the past and today there were and are spiritual disciples of as high level of self-realisation as Jesus was.

The fact is that they were not made to represent historical figures and religious Icons as Jesu of Nazareth,to keep this good exemple. The only writer of the earthly drama is organised believe it or not (in their cosmical periods) by God and humans are but executers of His scenario.

Of course, and there is no doubt, Jeshu was an impressive man full of qualities and thus became a hero thanks to His Father.Later on He was Ascended and became a master of Wisdom totaly Divine and not Human any more...

I am just working on my own evolution and try to "satisfy" the central Being who is God.It doesnt really matter for my own status for He knows better than us who we really are. Very Happy

OK, so what is your religion or belief. There are so many of them out there it gets confusing trying to sort them all out. You end up not knowing who your talking to.

Xingu,

I cannot say that I belong to any religion but if you wish my parents are Christian orthodox.
I firmly believe that Love is the principle strengh that produce genuine Union among men.
All other doctrines or "isms" are nothing less but ignorance.
I donot discredit religions at all, they have their role to accomplish in mens society.
We all understand life differently, given our own level of conciosness.
Otherwise we dispose of the same inner and outer costitution.

Certainly nothing wrong with working on your own evolution, SA....but, why make such unwarrented presumptions as a beginning to that endeavor?

You claim you are trying to satisfy a central being...whom you assert is God!

Every indication is that you have absolutely no reliable, unambiguous evidence that there even is a "god"....nor what it is that would "satisfy" any god that might exist.

Why?

Why gratuitously assert there is a "god"...and why make suppositions about what would "satisfy" that god?

Why not start your "work" with the truth?

Frankly, Frank; all I know is what I read in the bible. I realize I could be wrong. but I don't think so.

"Faith" is the one of the most over-rated aspect of human existence.

I have no idea of why anyone would think that there is anything edifying in making a guess about the unknown....and then insisting the guess is correct.

My father is dead.

This god of yours...the one you apparently refer to as your father....is a joke....a cruel joke played on you by people who are now dead and whom you never knew.

Too bad you cannot get past your fears and see that.

My guess is you would not be angry if you saw the truth. My guess is you'd see it for the farce it is and laugh your ass off.
