If Jesus died to forgive us, then why is there a Hell?

@Caesar,
Hello Caesar,
This is a great question that the Bible can provide an answer for. It begins by revealing that the Hell that many have been taught about, with fire and torment, in fact is not what it teaches. It does this by informing us about what the condition we are in when we die. See Ecclesiastes 9 verses 5 and 10.

@Caesar,
Jesus didn't die. If Jesus was divine it was a symbolic act. He knew he was God (for the sake fo arguement) consequently he knew he wouldn't just cease to exist. So he didn't die or make any sort of sacrifice.

@Caesar,
I can understand your confusion. But really the Bible can set your mind at ease. For example, at Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10, it shows that when a person dies they are conscious of nothing at all. Jesus revealed this to be true at John 11:11-14 where he likened Lazarus death to his being asleep.

An understandable misconception common to trinitarians. Then, to whom did he pray? How could he be said to be the first born of creation?
Quote:
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; 16 because by means of him all other things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All other things have been created through him and for him. (Colossians 1:15,16)

@Caesar,

It doesnt make sense. Jesus dies so that "all" of us can be saved, yet we still need a place for the un-saved people...Explain.

Perhaps it's because Jesus was just a prophet, a man, whom Christians institutionalized high above all other mortals. Just because certain words were written in the New and the Old Testament, doesn't mean for one iota that they are real and true. The Bible is taken literally on Faith, blindly, without questioning by many among us. Myriad hands participated in the writing of the Bible which has been translated from various languages beginning with Aramaic, Jesus' native language; there are many contradictions to be found in the Bible.

Such myths are what legends are made of. It is said those who described the acts of Jesus and claimed to have witnessed many miracles did not live during the life of Jesus, but the New Testament was composed at least 200 years after the death of this legendary "King of Kings."

BTW, there is a basic need inherent still in many of our kind to believe in the traditional God of the Old and or New Testament. Many of our kind still are unable to stand alone without their professed God which was born out of a need of dire necessity.

You are in error . The oldest known transcript takes us back to about 75 yrs after the death of Jesus, but that doesn't mean the story was created then, simply that is the oldest version . Many of the stories in the OT now have at least one version in the Dead Sea Scrolls .

They are essentially correct.
Sure, the Jews did not invent Abrahamic religion. But Abrahamic religion is central to Hebrew faith.

@neologist,
The first point is in reference to Sheol being a morally neutral place contrary to your claim of it being "the grave."
