I personally never understood why anybody would care about the "repent" part.

Is masturbation considered evil because it's causing one to spill one's seed, preventing a potential child.

That's what I thought the big deal was.

In that case, what does it matter if women masturbate?

Really..what are some of your thoughts?

I was under the impression that the main reason it was considered "bad" from a christian standpoint is that it causes one to focus too much on lust and lustful thoughts.

Personally, I doubt that any red-blooded male needs much help focusing on that, but whatever.

Hmmm, well wouldn't masturbation relieve the tension, so we wouldn't have so many lustful thoughts?

Also, this lust business seems to be addressed to the men in particular, so that they don't spill their seed, or get a woman other than their wife pregnant.

It's pretty obvious women were just innocent bystanders in this drive by shooting.

When did the Church decide having lustful thoughts were bad? I imagine around the time of Augustine.

Wasn't he the one who called women polluted open sewers?

And something about women forcing men to have these lustful thoughts, so it's all their fault anyway.

So, if men have to resist these sirens, why should the women be allowed to have any fun? I mean, they should be just as miserable as those sperm spilling victims of lustful thoughts, shouldn't they?

Lustful thoughts are just a nice way to break up the day.

You got me there. All that I can come up with is that it might encourage pornography, which the church sees as a sin.

Of course. Christianity's always been largely about men. The bible was practically written for men.

Actually, it was probably earlier than that.

Matthew 5:28 (Whole Chapter)
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Proverbs 6:25 (Whole Chapter)
Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.

Mark 4:19 (Whole Chapter)
And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

Women are the root of all evil, you vile temptresses!

I'm scheduled to have some at 12:30.

CST. Though I jumped the gun and just finished up a rather juicy tidbit of cognitive eroticism.

Let's face it: masturbation is a necessary evil. Come to think of it: not so evil at all.

All of us have a hidden hedonism stashed away somewhere. Masturbation brings it out in a pleasing way.

Side effect: it releases tension.

The Dutch in old Amsterdam do it
Not to mention the Fins
Folks in Siam do it - think of Siamese twins

Some Argentines, without means, do it
People say in Boston even beans do it
Let's do it, let's masturbate
