Royal watchers hoping to watch Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles say "I do" at this spring's wedding of the year are going to be disappointed. In a stark contrast to the Prince of Wales' first wedding to Lady Diana Spencer, viewed by 750 million people on TV around the world, his second nuptials will not be broadcast.

The decision to keep cameras out of the April 8 civil ceremony, to be held at Windsor Guildhall, means that the highly anticipated event will be the first royal wedding in modern times not to be televised. Furthermore, there are no plans for a post-wedding walkabout, nor will an official photograph taken during the nuptials be released. "It will be a completely private event," insists a Clarence House spokesperson.

There will be live coverage of the blessing by the Archbishop of Canterbury at St George's Chapel after the ceremony.

UK's Charles Finally Marries His Lover Camilla

WINDSOR, England (Reuters) - Britain's Prince Charles married long-time lover Camilla Parker Bowles in a simple register office wedding on Saturday, some 35 years after the couple first became lovers.

Charles, 56 and Parker Bowles, 57 emerged to the cheers of a large crowd shortly before 1 p.m. (8 a.m. EDT) following a civil ceremony lasting around 20 minutes.

The couple headed back from Windsor town hall to a religious blessing in nearby Windsor Castle to be conducted by Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams.

You must be getting a time delay feed, Walter.

I heard the end of the wedding a while ago.

Well, it's definately life (Phil Collins just entered the chappel): what you heard was the private ceremony at Windsor Guildhall.

seems you are getting the blessing, not the wedding service itself

it was odd to wake up to the sound of cheering (on the radio)

Well, it's now on BBC World as well as on BBC radio.

(Again, earlier was the civil wedding in the town hall  )

I'm a purist, Walter. The blessing and reception just aren't the wedding.

I like the hat, too. Playful, but still fine/ luxurious enough to be appropriate for the occasion.

Both hats look ugly, but unfortunately the biggest hat, and all makeup could not Camillia's ugly face.

One of the other forums I go to has a thread that follows good news.

It's hard to find good news, or even not bad news.

I'll enjoy the lovely hats wherever I can find them.

Camilla & Charles; the Pope's funeral; the Schiavo melodrama; steroid use among athletes -- this isn't "news." It's the antithesis of news. It's all designed to keep us from asking what the real "news" is, what of importance is actually happening in the world. Anti-American demonstrations in Bagdad, major helicopter crash in Afghanistan, whatever the Prez is or is not doing in Washington -- these all get shunted to the inside pages of the paper where nobody reads them anyway. Don't worry. Be happy.

Can't you see how pleased Queen Elisabeth was, and it
looks like Camilla had Spinach on her teeth. Only Charles seem content, as for his spanking sessions are legalized now.

It appears she got what she wanted

"When Charles takes the throne, Parker Bowles legally will be queen, but she wishes to be known as Princess Consort - a bow to opinion polls that show 70 percent of the population opposed to Queen Camilla".
