Elon Musk the founder of Tesla is a racial bigot

I hate racial bigots. They should not succeed in business ventures. I want everybody to know that Elon Musk is a racial bigot with minority employees at his company complained of racial bigotry. I want Tesla to fail as a business. From jalopnik.com.

Another former Tesla employee is seeking permission from a judge to sue Tesla for racial harassment on behalf of over 100 affected African-American workers, according to a report from Bloomberg Technology. The complaint, Vaughn v. Tesla Inc. in the Superior Court of California, alleges that Tesla workers, including supervisors, regularly used derogatory and discriminatory language against black workers.

@cicerone imposter,
Hmmmm.... this seems like an overreaction. I see that there are problems in assembly line jobs. I don't see anything that makes me think that Elon Musk is a "racial bigot".

I personally want to see Tesla succeed, they are at the forefront of an important technology that actually just might be a part of saving the world. I would also like for them to have responsible practices as a company that prevent abuse in their workplaces.

@cicerone imposter,
That doesn't have anything to do with your claim that he is a "racial bigot".

It seems like you really don't like Elon Musk. You are really unloading on him.

I'm sensitive to racial bigotry because I experienced it as a minority in this country. Blacks have had it the worst for the longest in this country. With Trump, it's Mexicans and Muslims, and he has plenty of supporters.

I have worked in management for over 80% of my working career, and never allowed any discrimination; none.

@cicerone imposter,
You are making a specific, rather nasty, claim about one individual. You haven't provided any evidence that it is the case.

You have no way of knowing if anyone under your management has ever used an ethnic slur.

@maxdancona,
The way I see it, the owner and/or manager of a company is responsible for what happens in the work place.

In a fit of rage after an investigation exposed Tesla’s history of brushing factory-safety issues under the rug, Elon Musk took to Twitter last week to decry the biased media and threaten to create a crowd-sourced site that would rate the credibility of journalists and publications. Over the weekend he continued his crusade, but attracted a whole other kind of attention, first by tweeting a link to a Web site run by an alleged sex cult (yes, the one former Smallville star Allison Mack was connected to), and then by prompting a wave of anti-Semitism with a cryptic tweet about who owns large media corporations.

@cicerone imposter,
I think you are being silly (a rather slanderous kind of silly). You can charge him with being a bad manager, and the tweet wasn't well-thought out. Neither of these things make him a "racial bigot".

There are legitimate criticisms to be made of Elon Musk without these ridiculous sensationalist conspiracy theories and exaggerated claims.

@maxdancona,
After this country's history on bigotry and discrimination, no owner or manager should allow the kind of treatment that blacks experienced at his company. That's not sensationalism. It's reality for us minorities. The white majority put us Japanese Americans into concentration camps during WWII. That was unnecessary, costly, and bigoted. Yes, I'm sensitive. FYI, the 442nd Infantry made up of Japanese Americans fought in WWII, and was the most decorated unit in American history. My cousin in Hawaii was in that unit.

@cicerone imposter,
Elon Musk is against the media. Sound familiar?
Quote:
Tesla CEO Elon Musk aired his frustration with the media on Wednesday, issuing a series of tweets calling out the “hypocrisy of big media companies” before floating the idea of starting a website which would allow the public to rate journalists.

Instead of claiming the media as "fake news," he needs to provide evidence for it. Otherwise, he's just another Donald Trump who hates the media. Musk needs to explain what the "hypocrisy" is, and let the public determine the claim.

@cicerone imposter,
That story was huge news over here, legal action hasn't been ruled out. The British diver in question was the main guy involved in the rescue. Musk was hardly ever there but used it as some massive publicity stunt for some useless mini sub he'd invented.

When that was pointed out he started calling people pedos. So yes, he's a complete ****.

I never paid much attention to the clown--I knew his story about Mars was bullshit, so I just tuned him out. I sorry to hear this, but not really surprised.

He's another one of those rich assholes worshiped by consumers enthralled with slick gimmicks, shiny gadgets, and empty promises. I don't know if he's a racist or not but he obviously thinks a bit too highly of himself.

@hightor,
You can do these character assassinations against any famous person. They have been done to Martin Luther King, Ghandi, and Mother Teresa (who in my opinion deserved it). Is there any rich famous person who deserves respect (once you dig through every thing about them on the internet)?

I respect Elon Musk for his role in creating Tesla... Tesla is undoubtedly a game changing technology. I respect that they decided to offer their battery patents to the public (a truly generous and important offer). That doesn't mean I respect everything.

Just because I respect his role in creating Tesla (and I want one) doesn't mean that I would trust him as a baby sitter.

The story about him calling one of the cave rescuers a pedo is not a character assassination it's a news story.

This was big in the news here. He already seemed pretty skeevy - these more recent stories are like cherries on a sundae.

@izzythepush,
True, his nasty tweet calling a cave rescuer a "pedo" is a news story. Using this in a list of sins to tar him as a "racial bigot" is character assassination.

That's how character assassinations work. You start with facts that paint your target in the worst possible light (and there is always something, humans are complex). Then you weave these factual stories together with exaggeration, unproven assertions and often outright lies to turn a human being into a monster.

Does anyone here really want to argue that Tesla is not a game changing technology?

Let's Try something. Pick a famous person from history, and less see if they are worse than Elon Musk. Pick one.

- Margaret Sanger (famous feminist and racist).
- Martin Luther King (civil rights leader and philanderer).
- Albert Einstein (leading physicist who abused women).
- Hillary Clinton (most qualified presidential candidate who shut down rape victims).

Shall we go on? Every single human being has flaws, and famous people have some famous flaws.

If we demand anyone who does something important to have a saintlike behavior in every aspect of their behavior... it isn't realistic.
