Lash is right. You can't "win" an argument with a troll and every back and forth exchange merely reinforces the troll's sense of self-importance. (I'm not innocent in this regard.) To break the habit requires a bit of neural rewiring, so try this: pretend that every time you respond to a troll you're giving him a pat on the head or a Biden sniff — there, see if that doesn't help to check your "reply" impulse.

Moving right along:

Many Democrats Love Elizabeth Warren. They Also Worry About Her.

@hightor,
Your mischaracterization of me as a troll is typically dishonest. When you and other people launch name-calling and personal attacks at me, that doesn't make me a troll. It just means that the name-callers are incapable of defending their position with an intelligent argument.

You're right that you guys should stop engaging in name-calling and personal attacks. But if you want to blame someone for your own bad behavior, the only person that you have to blame for that is yourselves. I certainly didn't make you guys resort to name-calling and personal attacks.

@oralloy,
No/ It means the troll is incapable of accepting the intelligent arguments presented. That's why he's a troll.

@MontereyJack,
Don't be so dishonest. Childish name-calling is not an intelligent argument. And being subjected to childish name-calling does not make me a troll.

@oralloy,
the intelligent argument is presented. The troll rejects it. When that hasppens endlessly, and it does. THEN people get really really irritated. And I might add, trolls engage in general name-calling and insults against arguments/groups people belong to, which is equally anger-producing but is not for some reason viewed like p;ersonal attacks, particularly by people anxious to get off the deserved hook.

Don't be silly. Disagreeing with the left's demented ideology does not make someone a troll.

"That someone disagrees with them" is not justification for leftist name-calling.

Fair criticism of the left for their bad behavior does not make someone a troll.

Fair criticism of the left for their bad behavior is neither name-calling nor insults -- especially when the criticism is backed up with evidence to prove that the bad behavior happened.

Cslling it "the left's demented ideology" is general name-calling and insulting. That's trollish.

Hardly. Their ideology is demented. That's fair criticism.

Wrong again. Criticizing the left for their bad behavior is not trolling.

@MontereyJack,
Does that mean you are trolling every time you make some broad brush claim against the GOP? Killers, traitors, cheaters and other such colorful words of choice? How much did you pay for the bridge you live under?

@Baldimo,
A notable difference between "criticism of the right" and "criticism of the left" is that I can document actual proof of the left trying to violate people's civil liberties for no reason.

Maybe it is conjecture that the reason why leftists try to violate people's civil liberties for no reason is because they find it fun. But it is a fact that no one has ever been able to put forward any alternative motivation for them doing this.

On the other hand, I've never seen any leftist criticism of the right being backed up with proof.

Okay, I must have been reported because just as I was about to log out, I got dragged into a dark, empty forum. Apparently there has been a change in policy. I can tell you that when it comes to slapping, the face is no longer off limits. So, just a heads-up on that.

On a related note, is my lip bleeding?

I've been reported many times but banned for a few days (maybe a week) only once (really can't recall why, but it was probably because I called a moron a "moron" or something more colorful). The room I was escorted into was quite pleasant. There were even snacks and beverages.

Who are you people trying to kid? The simple fact that you always respond to him is proof you want him to post. You have the ignore feature to use but, clearly, you don't. Such great fun ganging up on him though!

@Baldimo,
The right has been calling the left traitors since before i was born. Theyve been calling the clintons killers and worseo 30 years for close to 30years now. Remember pizzagate? Cast out the mote in thine own eye. The left are pikers at name calling compared with Fox and Rush and Ann Coulter and a raft of others.

The right has it's own share of violating civil liberties for fun.

Abortion rights, Title X funding, throwing LBGQT out of the military, cutting HUD, throwing air quality measures out the window, opening up federal park land to fracking, etc, etc, etc, etc...

Your documentation if you think it provrs those thiogs is purevright wing rabid opinion masquerading as fact. You know damnef well that what you call violation of the 2nd amend is from our viewpt resulting in what we see as violation of civil rights thru.murder which is far more serious. You may not agree but stop lying that uts for fun.I

I have you calling to violate people's civil liberties for no reason in your own words.

Do you wish to claim that your own posts are right wing opinion?

I also have most of the other leftists here calling to violate people's civil liberties for no reason in their own words.

I also have all the leading Democratic presidential candidates calling to violate people's civil liberties for no reason in their own words.

Wrong. Your attempts to violate people's civil liberties are not in any way designed to save any lives. You are trying to violate people's civil liberties for no reason at all.

MontereyJack wrote:

Hardly a lie. If the reason why you are tying to violate people's civil liberties for no reason is not because you think it's fun to do so, then what is your actual motivation for trying to violate people's civil liberties for no reason?

You can't give any alternate motivation for your actions, and that is because there is no other motivation for your actions.

Go ahead and criticize them for those things.

If you do criticize the right, I won't respond with pages and pages of name-calling the way some respond to me when I criticize the left.
