Manning did not reveal a single war crime.

Manning outed hidden democracy advocates in dictatorships all around the world, allowing the dictators to root out these threats to their regimes.

It was shameful that Obama pardoned this traitor to freedom and democracy.

But that's the thing. The left has no shame.

Convicted felon Dinesh D'Souza has one of the great minds in modern American conservatism
Quote:
On Fox News, Dinesh D’Souza calls on Trump to use “force” and send the National Guard to college campuses to crack down on liberal protesters
D'Souza: "Sending in force to protect basic constitutional rights is actually appropriate”

Isn't that just special.

You witch hunters are shameful. I'm glad I'll never have to deal with the karma of having lynched an innocent person.

Your bogus conviction has been pardoned.

And here's another great mind
Quote:
VARNEY: Obvious question right from the get-go: Why do 44 percent of millennials think socialism is just a fine place to be?

MARION SMITH (VICTIMS OF COMMUNISM MEMORIAL FOUNDATION): Well I think one thing is that millennials have grown up in a world where the Iron Curtain has already collapsed, the Soviet Union is no more. Another reason is they have attended a high school. I'm a millennial. I'm fortunate that I had a wonderful home-school and private education. But you do see that in high schools. Howard Zinn, a Marxist historian, is the most assigned historian. Karl Marx is the most assigned economist.
MM

Santorum was pushing the Zinn fable a few years ago. Here is the Politifact piece on that one

And the Marx in high school economics claim is bullshit as well, of course HERE

Right wing media is awash in this sort of stuff. Worse, it is awash in the most tawdry intellectual standards. But that is probably an absolute necessity in a mass propaganda system that has to function through making people stupider, less critically-minded, less aware of and less demanding of the most basic scholarship protocols.

President Donald Trump commented on the debate surrounding the comments of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) Friday, labeling Democrats as the “anti-Jewish party.”

“I thought yesterday’s vote by the House was disgraceful because it has become, the Democrats have become an anti-Israel party, the anti-Jewish party,” Trump said of the resolution against hate passed Thursday. “I thought that vote was a disgrace and so does everybody else if you get an honest answer. If you get an honest answer from politicians, they thought it was a disgrace. The Democrats have become an anti-Israel party and anti-Jewish party and that’s too bad.”
TPM

Of course Trump would push this one. But what I find really interesting here is his speech patterns. This is a great example of what he does all the time. Note there are only four sentences and...

"Democrats have become an anti-Israel party, the anti-Jewish party,” is repeated twice.
"I/everybody thought the vote was a disgrace if you get an honest answer" is repeated three times.
Easy enough to recognize such repetition as a propaganda/marketing device. But Trump wields this device in knuckle dragger fashion. And I think there are two reasons for this.

First, it is mentally easier for him to speak this way because he's just dumb and uses repetition not just for the normal propaganda or bullying reasons but also as filler. He doesn't have to do much thinking. And if he can continue to say something, anything, then he's the one doing the talking, not others.

Second, he obviously believes that his audience (his base) will not be able to process sentences requiring more intelligence/sophistication of thought than a grade two reader.

Perhaps you should market your services as a remote mind reader and psychoanalyst.

Do you really believe that all Trump supporters have the "sophistication of thought" of a second grader? Just where do you put yourself on that scale ? You don't here reveal much imagination, reasoning ability or ability to recognize your own limits as an "observer" of Trump's inner motivations.

Your "analysis" is merely a recitation of your own prejudices. No particular talent or sophistication required for that.

Splendid idea. I'd be good at that. For example, reading your mind right now, I can discern that your advice may not be genuine. Also, I caught something about a young Jewish girl and a bathtub and some game you called "torpedo away!"

I acknowledge exceptions. In fact, I have a map of the United States with a red pin indicating these cases. I bought the pins at Staples in a box of 100. This afternoon, I'm returning 50.

OK, let's get serious here. You're a fairly well-read chap. Find me another individual anywhere who is in a position requiring even a fraction of the responsibilities that Trump has who constantly demonstrates such speech patterns. Are you thinking that maybe Pericles spoke this way, george? Find me even one. And no, you can't use characters from Sesame Street.

Shine is out. Good news as the bastard is a typical Murdoch high level employee entirely unbemused by corruption.
Quote:
President Donald Trump has accepted the resignation of Bill Shine, a former Fox News executive who was tapped to oversee West Wing communications just nine months ago, the White House said in a statement on Friday.

Shine, who tendered his resignation late Thursday, will join the president’s 2020 campaign as a senior adviser — a role that will allow him to spend “more time with my family,” he said Friday. It was not immediately clear if the president urged Shine to resign. Shine was noticeably absent last week during Trump's meeting with his North Korean counterpart in Vietnam, staying behind in Washington, D.C.
Politico

The downside, of course, is that whoever Trump put in Shine's place is not going to be any more ethical or uncorrupted. Simply a matter of job requirements.

I know you've expressed some reservations about your president's Twitter habits and occasional lapses of good taste. I think you're a reasonable guy — so I can't understand why you aren't appalled by his behavior. I know that you're pleased to see some long called for conservative measures being enacted but that doesn't absolve the president from coarsening the political dialog, running on full campaign mode since being elected, and making absolutely no attempts to reach out beyond the resentful and fearful people that make up the core of his base. Wouldn't you rather see Portman, Kasich, Romney, or maybe even Weld leading your party and the country? Assuming Trump runs again, would you think of supporting a challenger in '20?

Shine has no idea who his father is? Well at least he knows what is best for the country and will help Trump get re-elected.

I hadn't thought of that. It's possible he'll need to scrape up some cash as aside from what he'd made before, he only got 15.4 million in severance and bonuses on leaving Fox and he's the kind of citizen who would work in the WH for nothing.

But he might. Some ego thing or some partisan thing that Regnery will figure can make everybody a lot of cash.
