Thanks cj! When I take these pictures I'm not planning on doing this type of thing - so it takes me a while to come up with something. In this case the mrs gave me the quote. But I told her to write it down about 2 months ago - LOL

I've been working on a year end photo for Monkey.

Here is the one from last year:

And here is the one from this year:

Lucky Monkey-parents.

The two with color work well again, and the direction/ orientation of each is nice -- how the top row is looking down, etc.

Tons of personality.

Thank you so much, soz.

I was kind of worried about color in the center and I was worried about all the pensive expression photos on top.

Perhaps a downward glance in indicitive of pensive. For whatever reason, after shuffling things around a hundred times, that is the arrangement that seemed to work best.

I can't belive the holidays are upon us. I've been goofing on other things and have fallen behind in my photo duties.

I still need to do Mo's year end photo and I have hundreds of pics of him to choose from - that makes it so much more complicated than Monkey's photos.

I also still have to decide on which image to hand out to his family this year. I'm thinking the one on the front porch with the pumpkins. They tend to like a bit more traditional images.

I'm glad my lab is fast. I'd better get after it though.

they are lovely and this year she is getting to be a young lady, looking older and more thoughtful - Monkey's parents should love them.

Thanks Vivien!

I like those year end photo things because you can see how much they've changed from year to year. She definately looks much more grown up and ladylike. She will have a new little sister to get in on the act next summer. That should be fun!

I've been frantically getting photos put together and ordered today. I can't believe I was so pokey about getting things done. I had neglected to account for time to ship things out!

Yikes.

One thing I was working on today were photos of Mo's little sisters. I only had a few photos to work with -- all taken at their birthday party -- and none of them very good.

I thought I'd post one just so people who have followed along can see how they have grown:

Wow, so much bigger.

And not at all identical! (From the pics, anyway.)

In the teeny-tinies pic with rose petals, they looked so much alike.

No they don't look alike. Nor do they act alike.

It's funny though, when I look at either one of them I can totally see Mo. When you see them all together you can tell that they're siblings.

Everyone thinks Mo looks like his dad but he really looks just like his mom -- his coloring is more like his dad's and thats it.

Here's an early version of Mo's 2005 thing. I'm still going through photos though....

What a range! It's great. The one in the lower left looks SO grown-up, and then the one in the upper left still looks so little... (That's the story of this age, isn't it? Grown-up to little and back, over and over...)

That is SO true, soz. I've never thought of it like that but you're so right.

I was just looking at the 2004 collage after you said that and thinking - he went from a baby to a little boy, this year he goes from little boy to boy.

Here's the 2004 collage:

Yep! The middle one is still a baby (what a great picture), then he's starting to be a little boy by the one with the hat.

It is amazing and scary isn't it?

Sometimes he'll do something or say something or get a certain look on his face and I'm just stunned that he could possibly be so grown up.

I think this year will mark the end of the "baby" photo album. It is already four inches thick, with at least a hundred pages and probably 300 photos. The screws keep breaking.

I guess that come birthday number 5 it will be time to start the "boyhood" book.
