"We are tolerant because we have to be. "

Or near equivalent. You folks are brilliant!

Hi,

I'd also like some help!

I'm looking to get

"The only thing I will not survive is my own death"
and
"I shall survive everything but my own death"

translated into latin

if possible. feel free to mix it up like "will" into "shall" or whatever, so long as it works Smile

thanks in advance, this place is AMAZING.

It's closer to the first.

This is closer to the second:
Omnia sed mortem meam superabo.

Quotes from Sulla
Hello I am new to the site. I am looking for the Latin translations of the following two quotes from Lucius Cornelius Sulla.

I believe that one or both of them were his self created epitaph(s).

No friend ever served me, and no enemy ever wronged me, whom I have not repaid in full.

and

No greater friend, no worse enemy.

For such well known quotes they are impossible to find in Latin. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
I posted this yesterday in the wrong section so hopefully it ends up in the correct area this time.

I looked for the original Latin and failed as well.

Since the sense of both sayings is so close, I wonder whether they are
just different renderings of the same original.

The only source I found was from Plutarch's Lives:

"At any rate, his monument stands in the Campus Martius, and the
inscription on it, they say, is one which he wrote for it himself, and the
substance of it is, that no friend ever surpassed him in kindness, and no
enemy in mischief."
(translation by Loeb's Classical Library)

Thank you so much for quick translation. Everyone in our family is a wee bit eccentric, thus the motto.

George that is consistent with my experience. If you were to render them in to Latin based on either of the quotes I have or in the Loeb quote you provided how would they read?

No friend ever served me, and no enemy ever wronged me, whom I have not repaid in full.

or

No greater friend, no worse enemy.

or

No friend ever surpassed him/me in kindness, and no
enemy in mischief.

Thank you for your help on this translation. I am amazed that it is so impossible to find. I wonder if it is due to the legacy of Sulla?
