Kicky
You said when you took the kleenex out of your nose, it started bleeding again and there's your problem right there. You're suppose to keep the kleenex in your nose for several days. 7 to 10 days, to be exact.

Good luck with that.

Speaking of toxic shock. why doesn't he just get some OB tamponsand use one of those?

Works great and would give a lot of people some laughs. Must keep the string attached of course for removal. Laughing

I think if after 30 mins if it hasn't stopped bleeding you are suppose to see a doc.

a checkup for hypertension would surely not hurt, if you have a health insurance and all. i like the tampon idea, what else could work better?

Those OB tampon packages are relatively handy for carrying around too.

That they are.

Small, compact and ready to absorb.

When I lived in London the two other Americans I lived with were a little younger than I was. They looked to me for all kinds of advice, and I kind of enjoyed being the sage, wise older woman. (I was um newly 22 and they were 20. Yeah.)

So anyway, at some point (there was context, I just don't remember what) I adopted my sage older woman tone to inform them about a certain kind of rare tampon that had no applicator. They looked at each other and said, "you mean OB?"

For some reason I thought it was only available at a few specialty stores.

I was a little more sparing with the sage older woman tone after that.

(We took over a kicky thread with tampon talk! Gotta love that!)

I'm right here! What the hell is with all the tampon talk? I feel like Carrie in the shower scene when she gets her first period and all the girls are laughing and shouting at her to "plug it up! plug it up!"

ehBeth, do you really think it could be partially because of that? You're probably right, but I hate going to the doctor.

really

look at some of your posts about work ... if you've got thinner/more delicate tissue in your nose right now because of the dryness, an increase in your blood pressure is gonna pop a nice spurt of blood for you

i recall when mrs. hamburger went to emerg with the nose bleed problems, they checked her blood pressure

Yup get your bp checked. And Farmerman had a great point on the aspirin and bleeding. As long as we're hijacking your thread don't take Tylenol for hangovers either, it destroys your liver.

Shocked

Good thing that taking Tylenol for me is like taking M & M's. I take ibuprofen ususally and Excedrin for migranes and really bad pain.

Not that those are any better I suppose.
