I've been to a few places in Texas over the years but never the coastal areas. Are they like the Gulf coast of Florida?

<creaking noise as wine cellar door opens>..........

I seem to have fallen asleep among the pile of empty wine bottles Eva, I DO apologize.

Is that coffee I can smell?......I could do with some, my mouths like the bottom of a Parrot's cage and I have a roaring hangover.

Browner sand than Florida, J_B. Not so many palm trees. We were in Galveston in March. It's one of my favorite places...very laid back, relaxed. Great seafood. Perfect kite-flying-at-sunset beaches. Our favorite place to stay is on the Seawall. It may not be there after this is over.

Here's some green tea for you, Noddy. We keep a good variety here, even herbal teas. Do you know someone in the storm's path?

Why, hello there, Dys! What can we get for you? Bourbon again, or something different this time?

I have an old friend in Jacksonville who is delighted to miss Rita. Her parents are divorced. Her mother is undergoing chemo in FL and her father and stepmother in CA both have major medical problems.
She has enough on her plate without Rita coming to call.

The green tea is lovely--soothing, peaceful.

<Dag stumbles out of the empty bottles pile, wiping eyes, eyes Ellpus up and down>

You look familiar. Is that coffee I can smell?... could do with some, my mouths like the bottom of a Parrot's cage and I have a roaring hangover.

Don't even remember what happened.

Here you go, Ellpus. Have a seat over here in this nice, quiet corner...take a couple of these...and I'll fix you a nice cup of herbal tea. This will settle your stomach.

I'm sorry, Dag. Here, you need a couple of these, too.

<aside> You might want to visit the ladies' room to clean up a bit, sweetie. I believe you could use a shave. <giggle> http://www.able2know.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1582060&highlight=#1582060

<ellpus tries to walk towards comfy chair in the corner, but veers sideways and knocks over the record player.....vague recollections of darkness, the clinking of bottles, giggling and zipping noises race through his mind>

Blast! I think I shall just lie down here........

Oh, he's harmless, Dag. Walks a bit in his sleep, but mostly just stumbles into walls.

Ooh. There he goes again. Hand me that cold rag from behind the bar, Jacques, and a couple of bandaids. Thanks.
